I'm following this as I'm going to need to address this on my cuse5.
I have the same fender lights from Kury that Phato has. They have been OK, but last fall I swapped the main and passing lamps for the OEM DayMaker setup from a buddy's '14.
Now, of course, the Kury lamps just look sad in comparison and the color is way off.
I'm looking for a good way to step them up to seriously useful LEDs.
Kuryakyn, of course offers an LED conversion but it's only a single LED. This would likely fix the color match but I have doubts that they are really bright.
What I'd prefer would be to find a really bright array that I could install in the Kury housings.
Looking for ideas.

I'll let you know how the Kuryakyn LED's work out. I decided to give them a try just for the heck of it even thought the H3 bulbs were doing the job as I intended by providing some light "under" the Daymakers and off to the sides. I just received them the other day and as soon as it warms up a little I'll install them and see how they compare - of course it may still be a while before I actually get out for a ride because of the lousy weather we've been experiencing.

You know it's bad when 40* feels like a heat wave  :(

Thanks for that. I've almost ordered that kit several times but just haven't pulled the trigger.
I'm very curious about them, especially their color, lumens and whether they're a spot or a flood pattern.
I noticed that I can get a similar kit from Motolight (made for their housings of course) and I would just need to adapt them for the Kurys.

I'm hoping to find the dimensions of their housings
On their website.

:P I had the fender Kuryakyn lights on my 2011 RG CVO. which were good.

decided I wanted something different and went for the MOTO brake caliper lights. Expensive, able to get discount from Tina, and the quality is excellent !
Only -ve, with them being low down. close to wheel, the lens do get dirty quickly. Not an issue with the fender type.
these are now installed on my 2015 CVO. also have fitted and wig wag relay, used when filtering between the traffic. (which is legal in England)
Still looking for the new kuryakyn lights that fit with the indicator area. Understand they are having problems with the new CAN BUS system and current loading.
I just like to be seen. too many dreamers (car drivers), out there.
I have even installed a front & rear camera system, just so that I can sue the arse when needed.
Off to Berlin & Poland in July, should be fun.  :orange:

Are either of these sets the LED version?

yes, both sets had LED. in fact, ride leaders at front like them being so bright that they were able to see me in their mirrors.

anything to stand out of the crowd.

I got the LED bulbs installed today. Of course Kuryakyn doesn't give you any specs for the bulbs - ie. Lumens, color spectrum or spot/flood application. But the color spectrum seems to be in the 6000k range similar to the Daymakers and the Custom Dynamic Dymanic Ringz I also finished installing. They have a nice white color to them. I haven't gotten out for a ride yet but in a darkened garage they also appear to be a "flood" type bulb with a decent spread.

The H3 halogens that were in there for a color comparison:

That's good news. Eager to get your report on their brightness.
I looked into the motolights but they are not very bright (according to reviews).
Still hoping to find some really bright LEDs for these housings.
I've got some cheap generic leds on the way that I'm going to experiment with.

I'm using the Motolites for quite some time now. Had the higher wattage halogens for up until last year when I upgraded to the high intensity LED's.

My opinion, halogen or LED, they do little to light up the road but excel at making yourself visible, which is why I put them on in the first  place.
The convincer for me was seeing the lights on a BMW 3/4's of mile away long before I saw any other lights or bikes in the oncoming group.

I don't have any pictures to post, but mine would look similar to above.  The color would all match. I think the Harley Daymakers do a pretty good job and would recommend.

That's about what I had found in various reviews; great for being seen, but not so awesome for seeing.

I certainly do want to be seen (switching the main lighting to the OEM LEDs was part of this), but I'm looking primarily for LEDs to 'light up the ditches' with these fender-mounts. I'm also expecting that if I achieve this, I will also gain visibility.

So far, the only really small units that would appear to do the job are from Clearwater (Darla model) but, Good Lord! 500 bux is a bit steep, eh?

Aux LED lights vary considerably in brightness. The LED Motolights are 240 Lumens ea... The 2" clear waters are 800 or 2000 lumens ea.
We put the Clearwater Erica's on our BMW at 6000 lumens each. Even at half power they can be too bright for oncoming traffic.  on full power not much else beats them for seeing down or along the road.

Take a look at Clearwaterlights.com . I have a set of the Erica lights and they are the best lights i have ever seen. They have low/high beam with low being adjustable from 15 to 85 %. High beam they are 6000 lumens each. They tie into the high beam and change with the headlight. They also tie into the horn so if you hit the horn they flash high. I installed the new optional dash switches from Harley and use one switch for these lights and a second switch for our heated gear. I bought a set of mounts from Clearwater and put the lights on the front engine guard. I run the them on low at about 30% and you can clearly see me comming from a great distance durring daylight. At night they add a nice pattern to the headlight and they make reading road/street signs easy. I don't even use the fog lights, don't need them.
