Biketronics vs Arc / Focal
« on: March 12, 2015, 05:55:16 PM »

Looking for input on these two systems (or whatever else might be better).  I'm interested in hearing your reviews of the Biketronics BT4180 amp with 7.1 speakers or the Soundz Customz system which is made up of a Moto 600.4 amp and Focal 165KRC speakers.  If you have the Focal's, can you post a photo of them in the tourpak pods.  If you have a 4 channel Biketronics setup, let me know what's in your tourpak.  While I'm interested in all reviews, I'm hoping to hear from those who have the Rushmore bikes.

Can't help you with the biketronics. But I have focals and they are incredibly good. I have saddlebag speakers as well (so 6 speakers total). Focals with Rockford amps. Clean and crisp and clear even at highways speeds +. Make sure to use a dynamat in the fairing

I have Arc amps and Focals in the fairing and bags also and they are great. I can actually listen to a football game on the freeway with my FF helmet and not miss a word they are so clear and crisp! Expensive but worth every dime if you are into the tunes.

Here is a photo of the Focal's in the tourpak pods...   sorry for the poor quality .....

Please note the second photo shows that there is a 3/8's or 1/2 inch round spacer under the pod cover material ....  this is required to make it fit depth wise ...  and is an easy install ....  existing cover material stretches to cover it nicely as you can see .....    The crossover is also in the pod .....

Sorry,  I'm not a Rushmore owner so I am not even sure you guys use the same pods as the older bikes do,  but for what ever its worth ...

hope this helps ...

Thanks for the photos!  I really want to pump up my audio for a killer system, but can't decide which way to go.  It's tough when there aren't other bikes around to actually hear.

I agree. Then found a guy close to me doing the Focals and got to hear them in a bike. You will not be dis-appointed with them. Use a good amp like Rockford's and you will love it. My guy is in NH if you're ever up this way....

I'm shocked that nobody has responded with input on the Biketronic's stuff.  They seem to have an almost cult following on HDforums.  To Biketronic's credit, I don't think I've read a single bad thing about them on any of the forums.  They must be doing something right.

I like the Stage IV system Soundz Customz has, but the lifetime warranty on Biketronic's amps and speakers is very appealing.  The amp doesn't concern me much, but the speakers do.  Are the Focal speakers waterproof?  Biketronic's advertises their 7.1 speakers as water proof.  I believe they are HAT speakers made especially for them.

Biketronics uses HAT speakers but I don't think there is anything different about them other than labeling and packaging.

HAT will compete directly with Focal at a better price point but you need to compare Apples to Apples. So you would need HAT Clarus to compete with the Focal KRX2 and so on ...

I've never used or heard a BT amp so can't speak to that
