Swapping from Batwing to Sharknose
« on: March 15, 2015, 10:44:18 PM »

looking to hear from anyone who may have converted a Street Glide or other batwing to a Road Glide fairing.  I saw a few bikes that did it in Daytona, but looking for guidance and/or advice.

There's a guy over on the RG Forum that's in the middle of that now. He hasn't updated his post in a few weeks though.

He's done a couple that I know of and I believe he's doing another one now.

I've been considering doing this myself. I even went as far as having the dealership print me up a full parts list.  It's a lot of parts! And lots of money. But I'm still interested. Paint matching is my main concern.

Well that and doing all that and having HD come out with one next year that I'd like even more. lol

This begs the question - - why not just buy a Road Glide?

I have a Road Glide and a Road King and do not want a fairing bike anymore so I am going to trade in the RG on a 2nd RK even though I love the motor in my RG Economically I cannot justify converting the RG to an RK even though it'd be cheaper than what you're discussing

You need to PM my buddy Chad (Redbeard). He did it to his '10 CVO SG in Tequila...

Someone here did a '09 SERG into SẸSG.  I believe it was the silver one.  It was documented on this forum.

Yep, I remember that one, too.  I believe it was the 09 SERG that he converted to batwing.

I considered converting my 14 Limited into a RG Limited. Parts list added up to around $6000 after paint match. I had the FF Limited in black with gold pinstripe so that added to the cost since a painted RG outer would have had silver stripes.

In the end I just traded it for the CVORGU.
