I've been using JB weld with no problems since the funnel was introduced. I do drill two small holes in the mating surface of the funnel to allow the epoxy to slightly ooze through the holes to act as a rivet. I use a clamping device to tightly hold the funnel to the outer primary and leave the clamp installed until the epoxy has fully cured. Not overly complicated and proven to hold without fail on ever comp we've done using the funnel. I have never used any of the Harley glue or any other method than the one I just explained here on countless comps we've installed that are supplied with the latest SE comp design.

Thanx  for the reply. I didn't get any responses so I bit the bullet and bought HD.  BUT I have another one to do and I will use your advice. It was over 60 bucks.

Thanx

I was curious about the retention clip they send with the oil deflector.  Is that just something they send to help hold it while the epoxy sets or do they actually want you to leave it on?

I don't see anything in the instructions saying to remove it after the adhesive sets.  I've attached the pdf of the instruction sheet for your review.

i was just wondering if people have actually been leaving it on or not.  It looks like it would stay there just wasn't sure if i wanted to actually leave that in there with a chance of coming off.  thought i would ask before i put the cover back on tomorrow.

I used jb weld on mine also.  Just wasn't sure what people were doing with that retention clip.  It has little spines on each side of it and is really on there just didn't know if people were leaving it on there.
