Make sure your grip is pushed the whole way on. Seems like it isn't engaging the sensor. Quick thing to check first before you have to start digging deeper.

I had similar issues because my switch block was not pushed all the way in. A very small simple small adjustment and the throttle now engages properly. No more problems.

there is thread somewhere with instructions how to let the ecm re-learn idle.  involves turning switch on-off so many times etc. etc. anyways will try to find the thread and re-post

Cycle the ignition switch 4 times.

That is turn it on until everything activates, then off, 4 times

Similar thing happened to me I had to clear a few codes and address the problem when it continue to reappear.  In my case I had to replace the throttle assembly.  The 08 was the first year with the TBW so I have had other issues to keep an eye on.  Resetting as ozrider mentioned will get you going but I would still check for codes.  If did not learn the procedure for resetting the ignition and checking codes I would have been towed multiple times every summer.
