Thanks. I couldn't be happier and more pleased w/how things are going. Even started going back to the gym this week pumping some iron. I'm doing everything I can (within the limits of the Surgeon/PT orders) to get healthy again as soon as possible.

Glad you're comin' along there, d00d!  I just got in from the Gym, (my worse half calls it "that damn sex club").  Can't do what I used to, for sure.  Have to do lighter weight and more reps.  Sure does make gettin' old suck less though, huh?  Later--HUBBARD

You got that right. I'm not sure that doing heavy squats in my younger days didn't have some adverse affect on my hip, and caused some of the damage. Lighter weights, and more reps are better for toning muscles anyway. At our age keeping stuff toned is a plus.

Waaaaaaaay Niiiiiice Hat!   Whatever fan sent it to you is a standup charachter.  I actually totally missed all the hoopla, and for that I am so sorry.  Really glad to hear you are on the road to mending.  I can't wait till we ride together again. You went out of your way last year to get VAEagle, VAZHog yourself and us together. There are so many VA riders now it aught to be substantial.  Talk soon about planning.  ;-)

Well today was the day. Weather was nice enough for me to get the bike out, and most people are at work so traffic was fairly light so I took the plunge. It really felt great to be back in the saddle and leg/hip held up well. No problems whatsoever. I only took a short ride this morning and probably will get back out for another short one this afternoon. Sorry no pictures as I was riding by myself. Not bad for just a little over two months since having hip replaced.

It really felt great to be back in the saddle and leg/hip held up well. No problems whatsoever. I only took a short ride this morning and probably will get back out for another short one this afternoon. Sorry no pictures as I was riding by myself. Great news Gary.  With the muscles still healing and attaching and growing and dancing and doing whatever else it that muscles are doing inside there how big will be a "long ride" for awhile?

Excellent news, Gary!!  Glad to hear there was no discomfort associated with the riding...that is a very good sign indeed.  Another 6 weeks and you'll be in the wind heading for MB!!  Maybe you'll get a wild hair and come to MV the week of July 4th and let me buy you a beer.  Keep working on it, and you'll be better than you can remember!!

Thanks all it was indeed a great day. So good I had to go back out again this afternoon. Forgot to check mileage before I left so don't know how far I went I would guess somewhere between 75 - 100 miles. Everything still feels good and I'll be getting some more miles under my belt probably this weekend if weather allows.

Not really sure. Just going to do what feels comfortable. I was just so excited to be out today on some twolane country roads accelerating out of corners, getting "on the cam" in the straightaways. I don't think I could have been anymore excited being on a date w/the Playmate of The Year.
