2015 Front End Dampening
« on: March 28, 2015, 11:42:05 AM »

Just turned 1k miles on CVO Limited.
I find that the front end is way too stiff, I can tell if I ran over a coin.
Any advice on softening this up a bit?

What is your tire pressure?  If you're at 36 psi or more, try letting out a couple of pounds.  Helped mine..

Not necessarily the "only available solution", it's just a good place to start your diagnostics.  I've seen way too many people, including professionals, spend hours trying to find what eventually turns out to be a very simple problem because they skipped the basics.  There's a reason why any good diagnostic guide starts with the basics.  Btw, I wouldn't decrease the tire pressure below the minimum spec, which is probably still 36 psi for the front.

A quick use of the search function on the site would tell you there are many solutions to your front end ride being either to soft or to stiff.  Personally, I removed the stock fork cartridges and installed Traxxion AK20 cartridges.

Others have installed Progressive Suspension's Monotube fork cartridge kit.

Or maybe, as Greg suggests, a slight reduction of tire pressure (while remaining within the tire manufactures recommended pressure settings) may be enough of a change to improve your ride...   :2vrolijk_21:

I've ridden for quite sometime, but never felt competent enough to do my own tinkering.
Checked out the websites suggested and will give it serious consideration.
I really appreciate the input...
