2014 Extended Brake Lever
« on: March 31, 2015, 06:49:36 PM »

I don't know if anyone else got the notification but EZ-Brake now has a brake lever extender.  They shared a picture and it looks good. I am getting the part number and will be ordering it shortly.

Installed the forward shifter, rear shifter delete spacer and brake yesterday.  Looks and feels great.  Excellent products at EZ-Brake.

I installed it yesterday and will post pictures this evening. Looks good and makes a big difference in where the pedal lands.

Looks Good!  What's the part number?  Is this a Kuryakyn part?   Thanks for the Pics and the information.  Ride Safe!

That looks like a nice piece to upgrade with.

But... my concern would be that there may not be enough full travel of the master cylinder before your foot hits the running board.  Brake pedals and levers should always be able to push the piston until it bottoms out in the master cylinder.

If you can do that with this new extended brake pedal, I'm all for it and it looks cool too...

The EZ Brake site is up now. The part number for what I got is EZB-14C-B (this is slotted). The solid version is EZB-14C.  You can see that on the site.

The brake will go all the way down and does not hit the lower wind fairing.
The mounting is exactly like the original and the difference is just in the lever itself.

Getting the cotter pin out for the pin that goes through the brake pedal and master cylinder was the hardest part.  Also the bolt holding the pad on was very difficult to get out. I was very careful not to strip that out. I replaced it with a regular headed bolt but I need to get a stainless steel version. Home Depot didn't have it so I have to look a little harder.

Got two receipts for my order and was concerned I had somehow ordered two items.  Called and spoke with David Kahn, the owner.  Seems like a very good guy.  Encouraged him to join the sight as a vender.

Have not done the new RGU yet but did this on my last two RGs.  It's helpful to also remove the two master cylinder mounting bolts so you have some more room to work.  See here:  EZ Brake Mounting Instructions.
