Album Art on Info System
« on: April 13, 2015, 08:44:03 PM »

Manual says it can show abum art. My ITunes has it on list on computer, but not sure how to get it on bike system. I can load all the music to a flashdrive and play it no problem. I can change, save favorites, FIND by artist song or album...just cant figure out the album art stuff. Figure it got to be in the load on the flashdrive, cant see a setting which makes difference.

Anyone?

Might check your iTunes settings to include album art when you move (copy) files.. The art is a separate file from the song file... But, now that I think about it, I haven't even tried with a usb- just with iPod and iPhone.

If you are using MP3s, I use this app to edit the album art with pictures of my son. This way wile ridding I can see pictures of my son and it keeps me from ridding like an @ss. LOL

How are you putting your music onto a thumb drive?  Are you using Windows or a Mac?

I am on windows but using ITunes. Open Computer, click Music on the left side and open iTunes folder on the right side. From here, you can see a folder named as "iTunes Media". Open it and you can see the Music folder. All your iTunes songs are saved here. Now you can copy the Music folder directly to the flash drive.

I bought a new iPod Nano specifically for my SG and it displays the album art perfectly on the boom box screen when directly connected to the uSB outlet. I can't get album art to display via Bluetooth music, but it doesn't matter as an $80 iPod fixed it for me.

I will try that. I save the music to a thumb drive. Maybe it doesn't play that way.

It does work with a flash drive. I changed the album art within iTunes so i could have my own personal picture displaying when I listen to my flash drive. I did have the standard album art prior to making the change. iTunes, Windows, and flash drive. It's been quite some time, so I dont remember the steps, but I remember it wasn't hard.

It seems to change to album cover after the song plays for 10 sec. when connected to Ipod or flash drive.

No art work through bluetooth.

Only on a couple of songs I do not get art work while using flashdrive....not sure why yet cause art work shows up on those song when connected to Ipod.

All songs loaded from Itunes

When you are using Itunes / ipod, the album art is NOT embedded into the mp3.  Itunes keeps it as a separate file and will only display the album art when you access it through Itunes or the ipod.  If you are playing directly from the thumb drive, the album art may NOT be embedded into the mp3 file therefore it will not show up. An easy way to check for this is to access your music from your computer.  Look at the MP3 files in their folders.  If they show the album art when looking at them as a thumbnail icon in windows, these should also show album art when playing from the flash drive. If all you see is the Itunes musical note as the icon, they will NOT show album art when playing from the flash drive.

I checked and none of the mp3 files have the art.

Tryied coping the entire iTunes but no change. I go into Music, then ITunes, then I can see a separate folder called Album Artwork on same level as the I Tunes Music folder. It contains many more sub folders but nothing I can really make out....So I copied the whole ITunes folder and tried it on bike, keep READING the flashdrive for about 5 minutes before I gave up on it...it found all 1400 plus songs and played them, but keeping reading and never showed art...Put other drive back in, one I only copies the subfolder with the mp3 files, and read the 1400 songs in under a minute. Played same way.

How to get the art embedded into the mp3 files?

I use a program called Wondershare TidyMyMusic. It will embed the art into your mp3 files.
