Being born and raised in Columbus, OSU football is all I know.  The Gators gave us a 1st class ass whipping.  Doesn't happen that often (fortunately).  They outplayed us, outcoached us, and plain wanted it more.  I staid up til the end, but as soon as the game was over, off with the TV..  Couldn't stand to watch the replays.  Congrats to the Gators as they whooped us bad.

Boatman;

Ditto on everything there. I'm just now starting to get over the shell shock. Last time I got beat that bad was in the alley in 6th grade. Really really glad I didn't shell out the big bucks for a trip to Az. Gators just plain whopped us and hat's off to them. There's alway next year and besides, we still beat that team up north.

All I can say about that game is DA_N!  I am a die hard Michigan fan - like the others for my whole life.  Dad went there, I went there, the whole deal.  We NEVER root for the Bucs, EXCEPT for bowl games.

Ohi_ kicked our butts bad this year and I was amazed at what happened to them.  Guess it shows how much work the Big Ten has ahead.... :-/

USC opened a can of whoop ass on Michigan and Florida stuffed Ohio State in the empty can. Guess the Big Ten isn't so BIG after all. This just points out how ridiculous the whole BCS thing is. Obviously the Big 10 is a way weaker conference than the PAC 10 or  the Southeast Conference.( is that correct for the Gators) So what are you gonna do, come up with a computer ranking system based on some arcaic formula for ranking teams by conference strength. Bring back the days where the winners of the conferences went to specific bowl games and to hell with this National Championship chit. It's obvious to me USC would have mopped the field with Ohio State as well. So where's that put USC ? And what about Boise State ? There's no way it can ever be truly decided without everyone playing each other and that's impossible. You can't have a football version of March Madness.

I don't think the Buckeyes could beat LSU or USC after last night's dismantling by Florida.  Notre Dame, Michigan, or OSU were'nt in their games.  In ND's and Michigan's defense, USC and LSU stayed at home and slept in their own beds.  With the traditional bowl games, there will probably never be a playoff as it is all about the money.  Nothing about the student athlete's welfare and extra time spent in the playoffs has anything to do it.  $$$$$$  The 4 Big bowl's like it the way it is.

Three months of prep wouldn't have helped my Buckeye's last night.  Ted Ginn (our fast receiver) getting hurt wasn't a big factor either.  We just got whooped.  Don't like it, but will be rooting again this upcoming season.

Go Bucks and again congrats to the Gators!!

As has been said, You can only know the winner after the game was played.  Until then its all just opinion and hype.  We all think a little with our hearts, too! [smiley=sweetheart.gif]

So we can all dream about what could have been and go get 'em next year!

GO BLUE!

It's just like Bear Bryant used to say when his Alabama team got beat "We just got taken to the Woodshed"  It happens...reminds me of the similar situation back in '93 (I think) when Alabama/Miami played for the National Championship and everybody was saying Bama didn't even deserve to be in the same stadium with Miami and Testesverde (Vinny)...well, after Vinny got knocked on his a$$ a few times by the then #1 defense in the country (like Florida), Miami got "taken to the woodshed".

I'm not saying that the SEC always has the best team in the country, but the conference is really, really tough.  When you've got Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, and then throw in a couple from Mississippi who are always a threat, no matter the record, anybody can get the chit beat out of them on any weekend.

I hate it for OSU, but I just don't think they had played a defense like Florida brought in Monday night.  They're a strong team, with a lot of tradition, so they'll be back next year.

But they all better watch out for Alabama in a couple of years...we got the best coach money could buy...Nick Saban... ;)

Yep, $40 million is a lot to spend just to beat Auburn.

....and Tennessee, and LSU, etc. etc.   Bet Fulmer and Tupperware are a wee bit worried now...I don't think T will get to use that other hand next year....

Just kidding here...it is, after all, just a damn game, not life and death.  I think about it for about 10 minutes after it ends...

Terry, sorry but you are wrong...the Ala. trustees only care about Auburn because when they lose to them it costs them tons of $$$$.  As long as Paul Bryant , Jr is around that is the way it will be.  And what about you saying it's not a "life or death" thing....you therefore cannot be a true Alabama fan ! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] I am one of 6 children and the only one that is an Auburn grad.  The other 5 couldn't get accepted there so they went to Tuscaloosa ! Ha.

My siblings do, in fact, believe it is life or death! Must be something about the environment at Tuscaloosa?  Thankfully the last 5 annual family reunions at Thanksgiving have been quite enjoyable for me.  However I know that cannot last and I accept that in advance !

As an employee of a company that is based out of Ohio with nearly 10,000+ associates there, it was hard to get a hold of any of them on Monday morning...A case of mourning sickness I guess.
