What is the best hidden antenna to install in the fairing. I want to remove the tour pack with the antenna attachached.

IMO there isn't one worth the money.

There are several to choose from. HD currently offers their own version. There are powered versions available also.

On a hot rod site there was a bagger guy who mounted a shorty antenna upside down behind the rear fender. Pretty slick.

A little more common is zip typing the antenna to the fendet struts.

Both of these methods work better than a hidden antenna.

On my 09 SERG, I found a "Y" connector and installed a Dakota digital powered FM antenna while removing the HD mast but leaving the connector.  Worked fine.

Ok... gotcha... they fabricated some Rinehart end caps to the end of the pipe to turn it down like that... kewl.

I installed the Harley hidden antenna and it works great, not sure what all the negative press is about, I have not noticed a change  in range or reception, was easy to install under the fairing.

Dakota Digital on my 04 SEEG and my 10 SESG....no issues on either bike.

With the 13 SEUC, if I were to remove the tour pack/antenna it would be a non issue since I pretty much listen to the ipod full time.

I removed a Dakota digital unit and replaced it with a Harley Davidson unit. same result with both. crappy reception. went back to the shorty whip with acceptable results.

My two cents:
I have not been pleased with the hidden HD antenna.  I've posted this before but I was "given" one of the HD units a couple of years ago to try.  Really got it at dealer cost and no installation fees....anyway, I asked them to leave the feed in place to the regular antenna just in case I wasn't happy with the HD hidden and glad I did.  I went from decent reception to maybe getting one good local station on the hidden.  I listen to quite a bit of FM along with the CD and iPod so I need the FM to be the best possible.  It was not with the hidden.  I pulled the fuse, pulled the feed out of the radio and re-installed the normal antenna and never looked back.
If you don't listen to FM much then lack of good reception may not be an issue for you.  It was for me, however.  Also, the other options out there may give you better service/reception.  However from the posts in this thread along with other threads, the hidden antenna, no matter the brand, does not show to be a consistent option.

That antenna install - while very inventive - simply cannot work well.

Put me in the group of Harley's second generation hidden antenna working as well, if not better, than the shorty one included with the '11 cvo streetglide (and the upside down one in the pic -  ). Got lucky I guess.

Funny, one of the members here ( I apologize for not remembering but I've been through a bit since then) called me on the way to Sturgis saying he was in the area and wanted to stop by for a beer (my place in Indiana). We crack a few cold ones and he says his ribbon antenna isn't working for chit (second gen same as I have). We pull the fairing and the install that Harley did was a complete JOKE. I re-did the install and he called me saying it worked great.

Dunno but mine works fantastic ...
