Well, it may end up in California but it will not be cheap.  Nothing is cheap in California.  :(

And on this topic.....when I bought the bike and Bushtec trailer and went to the DMV to register both, we couldn't find a VIN number on the trailer other than on a adhesive label on the tongue.  Chains is the VIN number not stamped on the trailer somewhere?

I don't think the vin is anywhere on the trailer except that label.  I may etch something on the underside somewhere so it could be identified.  When I leave my Bushtec in a parking lot or garage I always try to chain it to some fixed object if possible.  Never had any problem but hey it only takes one thief and the opportunity and it will be gone in way less than sixty seconds.

Yes, Chains and I have been PMing back and forth about this.  We've both signed up for the engraving project.  :2vrolijk_21:

I was going to try to do it on my lunch yesterday......but I think I need more than 5 minutes.  :(

I was going to do both of mine yesterday but ended up SPI g some both projects. Going to engrave it in about 3 areas so ii is easy to identify.

Still amazed at Bushtec not having a Vin number that is not removable.

If you chain it through the wheel it takes less than thirty seconds to pop the hubcap and remove the single nut that holds the wheel on.  I try to loop through the area where you add air to the shocks.  May slow the thief down a little longer.  Sometimes it is difficult to find a stationary object to chain to.  When that happens I leave the trailer hooked to the bike and run a chain through the loop and the bikes back wheel.   Still nothing a good thief can't overcome..

Chaining it up doesn't always work.............depends on how tough a neighborhood you're in at the moment.

Your absolutely right. Had a guy tell me he saw 4 bikes chained together and a tow truck pulled up threw his chain around the ones on the bikes.  Hooked to chain lifted all 4 bikes and took off.  Had to make a racket going down the road.
