If anyone at your Harley dealer has tuned with the old SERT, they should be able to tune with TTS, I would think.

You answered your own question. Local Harley dealers typically have dyno operators not tuners. There are some great tuners working for Harley dealers, unfortunately they are typically not allowed the proper time to do a full tune.

Jesse

You nailed that one, but
times are changing for the shops willing to invest in their equipment. I just stepped up to a stand alone dual 02 set up
that will interact with Vtune 3. This will allow an "operator" to create a full software assisted VE table in both cylinders at the same time from zero to wide open throttle at every RPM. Previously I would gather Vtune data from the bikes 02 sensors and let the computer generate the VE tables. This was great but it only got you to 80 KPA or about 3/4 throttle. The wide open pulls that took place afterwards were done the old fashioned way with a sniffer up the tailpipe one cylinder at a time. The VE calculation were made in my head on the fly. Time consuming but accurate with great results if your a "tuner" and know what's going on. The new Vtune 3 with dual stand alone 02s interacting will allow a moderately trained person the complete a much more accurate tune in way less time by letting the computer due the math to hit the target AFR. You no longer have to listen and look for spark knock, its all there in details at the end of a vtune session as well. This also allows me to tune the older non 02 bikes with the same accuracy. Previously I would turn those bikes away, it just took too much time. Rumor from a reliable source tells me there is even faster stuff coming.

Hey Steve that is a nice item.. I also have the Vtune 3 module and decided to use the DTT wego sensors and module. Reason being I have three of them from the old DTT ecm system's  But yes that is a a great way to go Jason at C&S has one as well.

This came from a pretty reliable source. Just sayin.
Are you diggin the new spark trim or what? That was the advancement of the century for me.
This time of year I get all the pingers, just fixed one yesterday with VTune3. Way too easy now.

Steve

Yes I do like the spark feature. I have been using it for some time give me a ring be happy to chat with you , and offer a few tips to make the job go even smoother  :2vrolijk_21:

I feel that the EGR feature is a huge improvement , that will help with Ping as well under 60 KPA in the roll on riding style. As you VE numbers will be much smoother.  Even with some of the combos  that have more reversion than they should.

The moderately skilled tuner.. that is funny .. as the SE tuner will let you tune the entire bike from start to finish and they still get it wrong.. I mean the tuner was made for a guy to take a 1 day tuning class and tune bikes.. Some of the tunes I see are a total mess and make zero sense at any level and , I still hear well it runs good, " I just have a issue here and then once in a while it will do this and oh yea when it's hot it is not happy when you idle etc etc ..   Can you just tweak the map.. Yep sure thing  ;)

Ya I'll probably ride for a while and look for someone to re tune it just sucks I paid them to tune it and they did a chity job I mean I could bring it back but I don't no if they are capable of doing a better job so I would rather go to someone I know is competent in their job.

Rode a while today did a couple roll ons and it feels like this thing absolutely flys from 3000 up its a rocket I wish they did better tuning on th bottom but I barely notice riding normally and if I'm racing I won't be below 3k anyways.  The map doesn't do justice tho it really does work well and I appreciate steve answering all my questions if Texas wasn't so far I woulda for sure brought him my bike.

Where are you?

Looks like Alberta Canada. That would make for an epic road trip and after the tune one heck of a ride home  ;D

I'm sure there's a worthy tuner in that area. Hopefully someone chimes in.
