Pulling the pin and rolling the bars forward.....already done??

My 15 RGU CVO was purchased slightly used, wondering if the bars have already been moved??
I read someone here or elsewhere mentioning they had "moved them slightly forward of level with the forks".
Mine are already considerably forward(closer to vertical) of the forks, so have they been moved??

Where are they from the factory exactly??  I haven't been able to find a photo that shows it very well from the side.
Don't really want to pull it apart just find out they've been moved.

That's my understanding from reading multiple threads about it. I think I've read where there's only 6 wires in there now instead of 16.

Damn...add in a set of heat demons and it shouldn't be too hard....

Anybody use the new design heat demons with the TBW heater yet??

You must only take apart the single, 6 wire Molex connector used for the throttle-by-wire.  That and reassembly is shown in detail in the video.  The canbus connectors easily pass through. 

One comment on the video.  I would never use grease to help pass the wires through the bars.  The service manual says to use window cleaner (which then evaporates and doesn't make a mess).  I found it best to use silicone spray for the same reasons and it is a better lubricant.

Do not use window cleaner if you wrap everything with electrical tape.  It dissolves the electrical tape and becomes a big black sticky f..ging mess.  Silicone much better.

Still seeking an answer from my question if any one has changed to the 12" bars on a 2015 CVO Street glide and has used the original clutch & brake lines that come stock with the bike. Advice from Yaffe was that on the 15 models they have left enough extensions on these cables to allow for fitment? Don't want to get all the way to a strip down to find I need these cables shipped to the UK.....

I installed the 12 inch yaffe's on my 15 CVO SG and used the stock cables with no issues, I did have to buy the electrical wire extensions for it. The throttle by wire is long enough.

they are nice bars and fit great. Hope this helps.

Still hoping to hear from someone with experience with the heat demons and a throttle by wire bike....anybody.....

I tried Heat Demons on my FLHXSE3 when I put the 12" Yaffee's on.  They would not fit unless I reamed out the right handle bar grip, which I chose not to do.  I would sure like to have them on there, so I might reconsider.

They changed the design and according to the website you don't have to ream out the bars anymore.

Thanks for the info. I went to Harley and asked how much it would cost to put "12 bars on my 2014 Street Glide and they told me $2000 and they had to change the brake lines and clutch. Thanks for letting me know that I can just change the bars and not cables.

$2000.... thats crazy. Some 12" handlebars might require those to be changed??
