Is that the motor that they say is specifically for the track where partial throttle response, longevity and street ride manners have all been compromised  to increase track potential? Not sure I need that oneI You first.

Your right hand is in total control of that aspect.....and is no way, shape, or form, a "racing" engine.

No, the article talks about street ride ability but for those who are a little more inspired.  The numbers are impressive, look at this dyno sheet....    :P   http://www.sscycle.com/go-fast-showcase/motorcycle-engines/t143-motorcycle-engine/

However, $9,250 is a bit scarey.  :nervous:

Yes, not inexpensive, but then again that type of power comes with a price tag.

The Engine is a chunk of change for sure. I talked with a S&S guy who was working one of their tents at AZ Bike Week, when I expressed concern with the drive line handling all that power he said that it would most likely be closer to $15K once done.

If a lot of these sell its time to get stock in Dunlop!

First one fitted in a bike in Canada at the indi I use, in a 2015 street glide. Spoke to the tech who took it out 6 weeks or so ago....left black lines on the road in the first 4 gears without trying. Oh dear, will probably lunch the drive train in short order, as has been said already, start buying Dunlop shares

I looked pretty hard into doing one when I blew up the 120 and called S&S tech line. They told me that they didn't recommend it for long day touring and steered me to the 124. They reiterated what they say on their website about giving up dependability for performance not to mention switching out the belt to chain. Im sure it is a "E" ticket ride and if I had a 2nd bike I would have been very tempted.

From the S&S web page mentioned above:

"At double the HP of a stock motor the power of the T143 requires technical expertise for the installation and tuning along with an experienced rider.  This is an ultra performance/ race engine.  Longevity, engine noise, vibration and throttle sensitivity have all been compromised to reach this level of performance while fitting in a stock chassis and as such is not suitable for every situation. It is the purchaser's responsibility to consider the suitability for their application. Engine noise and damage from abuse is not covered under warranty."

According to an independent who does many of these, even the T124LC needs an upgrade of the clutch and transmission for long-term dependability.  It seems logical the HC 143 would require more than the LC 124.

We built an S&S 145" for a good client in Edmonton, Alberta for his Dyna.
MUCH, MUCH, more power than he was anticipating.

a good, mild 124" is a way better choice for most riders.my 2002 RG has a VERY mild 124" (10.0-1,S&S .570 cams),puts out 129/137 and can be ridden all day with out a problem.we get a lot of calls on big inch, big compression motors.i try to educate them on exactly what to expect with these builds, most think they do,but really don't want the headaches.with the aggressive 124" builds or the new S&S big motor, watch what you wish for,you just might get it (and all the problems that go with it)

Guy in Ohio put one in his RoadGlide, after the tune it put out 170hp/high 160's in torque. Your gonna need a very stout clutch, gear box, and drive chain to handle power at those levels.

At a claimed double the HP of a stock Harley-Davidson motor, the T143 isn't for the meek or inexperience. This is an ultra performance/race engine. Longevity, engine noise, vibration and throttle sensitivity have all been comprised to reach this level of performance while fitting in a stock chassis. S&S tells us the T143 isn't for every riding situation, or every rider. It is the purchaser's responsibility to consider the suitability for their application. Engine noise and damage from abuse is not covered under warranty. You can find out more information here, at the S&S website.

From Bagger magazine.

While I love power and I would love this  new 143 in my CVO Dyna Fatbob I would not choose this and would prefer a mild to mid build of the 124 in the Limited.
