Pretty cool sight to see a buddy from work told me to check out. His exact words were "it's unique" & that it was. I didn't go down the hill to the temple or take the inside tour, just chose to walk around the grounds and take in the sights.

Sorry to leave you guys hanging with the pics ... I started this at home and pics didn't want to upload so I got pissed and gave up. I got them posted at work later in between runs, but still took an eternity and I don't know why. My phone is 3G if that has anything to do with it? One pic can sometimes take almost 5 minutes to upload!  My phone gets a crappy signal at home and at work the signal is full, but the pic loading is still a slow process.

We used to go up there when we were in high school. The marble work is unbelievable, especially when you consider where it is. If I remember correctly from the tour guide it took 10 years to complete it. In the 70's and 80's the place was a beehive of activity. After their leader Swamie Bhaktipada was accused of having two of the followers killed and convicted for selling fraudulent trademarked sports items the place went very quiet. In their heyday you couldn't go anywhere without seeing some of their followers handing out literature. I can't recall the last time I saw one.
