Your packing look like mine?

Couldn't believe what a lousy job of quality control HD did when they installed the insulation in my 2012 SEUC. The left side was Ok so did the same thing and split up that insulation between both cans.
If you didn't order the insulation mesh from Fulsac you should. Makes everything go back clean and keeps the packing where it should be.
That kind of makes sense to me. If you have the stock header pipe, even with the CAT removed, the right side exhaust will pass a ton more exhaust gasses and heat than the left side muffler ever sees. I can even hear the difference going down the road that the left side is quieter than the right. Also the baffle has a discharge port that blows out into the packing and that's probably what made the hole in the insulation.
I had my mufflers off while on my lift table and started it up to circulate the oil prior to my oil change. I had the rear wheel off to do the rear swingarm mod for the 30t sprocket upgrade. I did have the wheel and belt back on, just didn't have the mufflers back on yet and wanted to hear what straight pipe sounded like on my bike.
While running I could feel a big difference between the two. I'm sure that's whey Fullsac and others have the full "round" crossover pipe as part of their kits.
I think the Fullsac baffles would be a lot less disruptive on the packing as they are perforated rather than just large ports like the stock baffles.
