yep,
and I will always have my buddy Richard to help me remember him and especially Lucille by!
Richard was 18, his birthday (this was about 20-25 years ago)
New Orleans boy, his step dad took him to see BB at one of the clubs there on Bourbon street
along with a 26 year old bottle of scotch which helped my young friend make his way back stage burning one of his breaks,
"Hey BB how's it going my man" I think is what Richard told me he said!
they all looked at him like who the heck are you!
so back down the hall ole Richard went, or to the next room where sat, propped in her case was Lucille,
with way to much Scotch in young Richard he figured what the hell!
just ever so calmly closed the case and went on out the back door!
Got home, sat on the porch and played a few cords! then the reality of "Borrowing" BB Kings pride and Joy sank in,
so young Richard picked up the phone and called the Police!
next morning,
after all night in jail being asked what he was in for, with no reply, it was his turn, full chains, orange jump suit and BB King with all of his boys with him in court
Richard got his turn in front of the judge,
How do you plead for the Theft of Lucille? the judge ask, that's when all of the other inmates busted out in laughter!
Richard got 5 years probation and has never touched hard drop of booze since!
True Story,
Richard worked for me for about 10 years and now runs his own shop!
I'll bet today he is always Remembering the one and only great B. B. King!
