Mike's Harley-Davidson--$old
« on: May 20, 2015, 12:46:52 PM »

Mike Adkins sold his Dealership in Delbarton, WV, to the owner of Logan Honda, Logan, WV.  It is now Mountain State Harley-Davidson.  Mike was, and is, a great guy.  He don't have to worry where his next meal's coming from!  :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: Later--HUBBARD

Mike's and Kutter's recently sold; wonder if any others?  Just coincidence, or is it there a wave of people about to get out?

Actually, it was 1972, in a small building in front of his Father's junk yard, on Rt. 52, in Delbarton, WV.  'Bout a mile before the Taylorville Bridge.  I bought several Harleys from Mike, and helped him sell a bunch, too.  His XR-750 won Championships on the Dirt Track, too.  I think Paul Yoder rode, or helped him a lot through the years.  Mike's a great guy.  Always made you feel at home.  The New Dealer has got his work cut out for him.  I wish him the best.  Later--HUBBARD

Used to ride past the old building often, was riding a Yamaha 650 back then.  Speaking with the new owner the other day, I guess I bought that Yamaha new from his father or grandfather in Logan in '76.  He was telling me that they just got their "50 Year" plaque from Honda so they have been at it for quite a while, but one of the longtime employees indicated that he had stated that H-D really was a different ball game.  More a reference to the T-shirts, accessories and stuff that you really do not have to deal with selling Honda, Yamaha, etc.

Kosko HD in Kinnelon, NJ sold and is now Garden State Harley. I believed that they are now owned by Williams HD out of Lebanon, NJ. They also relocated, leaving this insanely enormous building empty except for a tiny bike shop, Pee Wee's, that is leasing some of the space.

Hope the shop keeps it's original name.  That was my favorite name for a  Harley shop anywhere in the country.
