What does the air pressure do in the air assisted rear shocks?


Make them suck a little less than they otherwise do when properly pressurized.   But not much...

Basically the air supplements the spring, and adding air increases both the preload and the spring rate.  In theory, a pretty good idea.  In actual practice by Harley, not so great.
