Glen, myine was doing the same thing in MV last year. I was trying to get all the miles out of the tire that I could. BSR said it was roaring pretty loud in her ears. got home, changed out rear tire & noise was gone. it ( old tire) also had effect on cornering, thatwent away for the most part.

You might want to inflate rear tires to max rec which is 45lbs on most. Especially 2 up. Some brands even exceed these numbers for max pressure. Underinflated tires, even by a lb or so will wear in the centre more quickly and leave the outside ever so slightly scalloped, they will "roar" on leans. Nothing but replacement fixes the noise. Check your inflation weekly and keep it at max should help. twinotter

Pretty common with that mileage on a rear. Some are more noisy that others.
I think the '14 and up rear tire wear is better than the earlier models, at least from my experience.
Our local dealer says "they all do that, unless they don't"........yep.......direct quote! LOL

Interesting.  My 09 SERG, then my 12SERG, and my 13 SERK have all had better tire life than my 15 SERGU.

Was getting 18 to 20K out of a rear on the two SERG rears.  Got 15 on the SERK, but not surprised it was less as its a lot more HP and Torque than the others due to built motor, and I like to use the extra power.

The 15 SERGU would not have made 15K, was dang near on wear bars at 13000 miles, changed it along with front mainly because doing a 6500 mile trip at the end of the month.

All the bikes after about 12K started to make noise in the curves on the back tires.
