What difference does it make... don't you already have the bike you want to own/ride? :nixweiss: Reminds me of the old bull and the young bull joke and running down the hill... Sometimes the fastest isn't the best. 8) :D

A 2012 Honda Gold Wing does 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. A regular Breakout, without any mods does it in 4.9 seconds. Make it a CVO and it's gonna win that race easily as long as the rider knows what he is doing (aka not me!). Now swap out the pipes and add stage I and even I can win that race! :D Just sayin'

The wing will beat the snot out of any HD. It also handles very well in the turns. Not a good looking bike but very capable.

This is funny.  He's talkin chit he can't/will not back up?  :nixweiss:  Tell him "the talkin is done!"

When one of thos guys on the street bike pulls up next to me, reving it up like a sewing machine.....I lift my face shield, I smile and I tell him "you might get there before me but I'll look better doin it!"
They really do the slow burn.....especially if they got some little hotty on the back smiling at what I just said.   They both know it's the truth and she secreatly wishes she was on the back of a Harley. :huepfenlol2:

Owned a wing n sold it   Wife hated.    bought 14 cvo limited.      Wing is faster.   Hands down.  It has a low first gear which helps it jumps hard and fast.

Not according to the published numbers here: http://www.zeroto60times.com/body-style/motorcycle/
A Gold Wing is slower than the the regular Breakout, Sporty 1200(!), the SE Dyna, softail slim, and, drum roll please, the 2014 SG Special (not even the CVO SG!) by 1.1 seconds. So not only does the GW look less than attractive (JMHO) it's slow and less than attractive (scientific fact)! Handling-wise, the Breakout is not that hard to beat because of the ground clearance issue. I have bent the primary case trying to keep up with Jimmy (2k) on his CVO RK.

I just had a good friend, I call him PAPA Smurf when he wares his color matched teal jeans and jacket just trade his teal not sure what year it was but it was at least a 1800 GOLDEN WING for a new chopped version I think there called a F6B, because We had to stop on Rt 495 coming back from Cape Cod one evening just before dark when I hit a big dip on the highway and both my saddle bag lids popped open at around 90 mph, he was running in the rear and pulled beside me to tell me my bags were open, we stopped under a bridge to close them. There was also one of my regular HD friends with me and on a Stroked EVO low rider. Once I had the bags locked down we took off again and I let my back tire spin which made the stroked Low rider take off like he was on a 1/4 mile track power shifting right by me, so of coarse  I had to twist it harder and red line it to stay with him we hit the triples in no time, Papa Smurf always liked to talked SH!T about how fast his bike was and the Harley boys cant hang with him! 10 Miles up Rt 495 we turned on to Rt 24 and stopped at the rest area for gas we were standing there laughing when Papa Smuf roles in gets off his Golden Wing in total disbelief and ask what's in the motors of our HD'S nobody's ever done that to him before! We laughed even harder!!  Two weeks ago I was in my yard cleaning some of the winter up and I hear a stereo blasting down my street It was Papa Smurf on a Black FB6 I asked him why he got rid of his Teal G.W. with every piece of Kyryakyn  chrome and lights ever sold and he answer was he was not going to let me and my friend Fitz do to him what we did to him on the highway ever again, I could only smile and say nice bike and good luck!!! The next time I get him out there and I know he's going to be pushing me to race him, I'm gonna rev it and let him take me so he wont have to spent any more money!!    BostonBoy

Up until 100 miles or so any harley will be as good as a wing but than wing will win. I owned some harleys and a wing, sold it since it was boring. Wing can go up to 240 kmph (around 140 mph) easy. Also better handling and aerodynamics for speeds over 100 mph. Beleive it or not harleys are less hot, my thights always burnt on that wing. I miss cornering with it tough, closest is roadglide as far as handling and cocpit goes.

Two years ago I raced a riding buddy's 2009 Gold Wing 1800. I was on my former 2011 Road Glide CVO Stage III with 110 hp 120 tq. at the rear wheel. We both stayed neck & neck until he ran out of gears, it took the CVO's 6th gear to finally put the Wing to sleep.

I've owned 4 Gold Wings in my past, last being a 2006 GL1800. Stock the GL 1800 Wing will smack down a stock HD tour CVO. However once you get up into the Stage III upgrade or better, the Harley will eat the Wing's lunch.

The GL1800 sorely needs a 6th gear. The good news, there's not much engine upgrades available for a Wing.

I have raced a lots of gold wings GL and F6B for 1/4 mile, the SG3 never let me down and always making me selfish after the race with Jet boat riders.

The Jet boat riders always claims they are faster which I do agree with them on high speed only, but drag race for 1/4 mile you should be able to beat the boat which I have did with only head pipes and perfect tune

Have to love the guys with stage III or IV mods bragging about beating a stock GW, or someone riding a much lighter Softail wanting to know if his bike can outrun a GW.  Comparing apples to donuts, and as fired00d so aptly posted, what difference does it make?

You may beat a GW over the eighth or even quarter mile thanks to the power to weight ratios, assuming your a good drag race type rider because the rider makes a big difference too, but keep on going and see who gets to the end of the one or five or ten mile marks first.  Then keep going flat out for another fifty miles and see who gets there first without white knuckles and without a lot of drama.

If you want to be both quick and fast, buy a Hayabusa.  Stock off the showroom floor it would probably lap your Breakout on the first lap of a one mile track.  Does that make it a better bike for the way you ride?  Does that automatically make what you ride a POS?  Who really gives a chit?
