Which does remind me - the 08s had a recall for that filter cracking.  It would behave like that when it started to go if it didn't just crack off right from get go.  Not sure if any '07s had that or not.  It didn't throw any codes when it did it either.

One of the few things the '07s did not have.  Like others have said the original '07 110 motor was a total pos and it darn near drove me away from HD for good.  Every time the moco makes a change you better hold on because it's most likely to be problematic - and if they claim it's an improvement you know you've had it for sure, lol.

Didn't the '07s have a problem with the fuel hose inside the tank developing holes in it and causing problems somewhat like this?  Can't remember for sure which ones had this.

Take it in to a reputable shop. Like so many have said, 2007 was the first year for the 110 engine. Are you the first owner? Do you have maintenance records if not? If you have 40k miles on the motor and this is the first serious engine issue you've had, you probably don't have one of the early 110 motors that were problem childs and it could be as simple as a bad fuel pump or a clogged filter. However, if you haven't owned the bike long, there could be a long maintenance history attached.
