I think the original paint on my Slate Grey /Metal Grind is the top of the line. I rode with TaildraggerDave up to Big Bear for the annual show and there were many, many nice rides. But we walked back to our nearly identical rides, looked at eachother and laughed out loud cause the group of people near our rides were staring and comparing notes on the two CVO's we rode.

It happened at a local bar when we rode another time. The interest and pointing was at our rides.

I thought about painting one or twice. If I was compelled to do this, I'd keep the metal Grind which I think (IMO) would keep the identity of the FLSTFSE without losing any additional value for resale.

haze here, thats more or less what i was trying to say, i'm just a dumb texas boy ,working since i was 11yrs old, then u.s.m.c, so i'm not really good at making my point, but i wanted to buy same bike as yall's really bad but at time could not afford it, so i bought next best thing ,05 annaversery fat boy ,silver with gold badges on tank 95 cubic inch, it was a nice ride and kind of plain and i was going to try to add parts like 05 c.v.o ,but man the prices for some of the (all) parts just way to much and i'm not a mechcanic and it's so easy to strip a screw or nut, but anyway rode it for about 8 months and noticed oil leak right where the cases where put together so i went back to dealer and they said the whole motor had to be torn down and new gaskets for fix, i did not trust or want them to take a almost new taken all apart, it only leaked when i rode it, so went to other dealer and the 06 concord purple just blew me away, i really thought this was bike i had to have, wiped all oil off of my 05 and they really stole my trade but took chance and bought it anyway, i put 2in1 D&D boarzillas on it, K&N,sert, and then dyno, but anyway must see in person to apreciate look, and there is no way you can buy stock fatboy and buy parts for bike for the price we spent on ours even if you can do the work your self it would still cost way to much unless you are rich and have a
[edit][/edit]lot of spare time. sorry for rant just trying to make a point, i guess its like when you buy truck or car and you want it loaded ,the c.v.o is the way to go and like you i really like the metal grind paint job, i can rub my hand across tank and it feels 3d , so again sorry for going on but off today wet outside so i thought i'd run my head.purple haze [smiley=soapbox.gif]

Thanks guys, for all your nice comments. I live in a country where motor vehicles are heavily taxed, so starting off with a stock FB is no option for me. Besides, the FBs were sold out in Europe last year before you could pronounce the word "cake".

A SEFB costs USD 60 000 in Norway, the taxes alone are close to the bike price. Outrageous. If you want a really big car its the same way. A Hummer H2 is usd 200 000. Taxes are progressive on cubic and HP. Say no more. And the gasoline? 7 usd/gallon.

On the other hand: We have some great scenery!  [smiley=cucumber.gif]

well dagbre, i hate to think of the cost of my 06 ram srt-10 reg.cab over 500H.P about 535torque and if i drive like grandpa i may get 10 miles a gallon city, but on highway put it in 6th gear and 75mph it may get 16 to 17 m.p.g ,but i live in dallas ft worth area and the roads are packed here, and i would get better m.p.g, but in the city here we must buy the re-formelated gas for e.p.a so we use more gas but have cleaner air and if you belive that i have a place in new orleans i will sell cheap ;) but any way i want bitch about prices after what you have to pay!!! i feel your pain. at least your harley should get 30m.p.g. i'm sorry but where do you live, and i bet the people there really like your C.V.O harley and if i'm not to nosey how much U.S dollars did your harley cost? i will try to put a picture of mine on site soon as weather allows me, i will take it out and shoot some pictures and let me get your opinon on up-grades, also my S.R.T.-10 is inferno red crystal with stock 22x10 wheels and tires, both bike and truck make a bold statement [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] and if you want to change your bike color save your tins and get harley catalog you may find something that trips your trigger but they ain't cheap!!!!! but you must pay to play. some people think torn flesh and skulls are a must but sorry i don't want to look like maryline manson LOL, but some people go further than that, i don't want to be afraid of my bike, and i don't think the girls would think much of ya!!! :o

Dagbre, wow!
I didn't take time to find out where you were located, but given the info you just posted, I would think makes your SEFB quite rare, and unique as it sits, and being so, unless you don't care about the cost of it/vs. what you would like it to look like, even more reason to leave the basic bike alone.
If you want to change it, keep all the original parts, as you suggest so you can offer everything necessary to restore the bike to original. Excellent option.

And yes you do have some fantastic scenery!
Is your summer shorter than what we have in southern Ontario, or would you even know? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
In otherwords, how long is your crappy part of Fall, Winter and Spring?

Haze, Dagbre's home...........
way in the northmost tiptop of Norway.
I think he gets about 30 seconds or shorter of daylight this time of year.  ::)  Blink at the wrong time and you might miss it.
You mentioned 'lap' dances, did you know that 'lap' dance is derived from the name/term 'laplander'?
In Norway, these so called 'lap' dances are a means of keeping from freezing to death, not as a form of entertainment.  [smiley=nervous.gif]

Hey Dagbe,
welcome aboard! Just having some fun with you.
I was reviewing the whole site tonight while we are having this snowstorm blizzard here and noticed I missed out on your 'New Member Introduction' posted earlier.
This place is a fantastic site for a small niche market of bike like the CVOs.
Full of information you cannot find anywhere else, as well as great stories, pics, fun and entertainment.
Well worth the visit and support.

Hi again folks!

Lots of jokes about lapland here. I don't really live there. I live north of the location map on this site, on the Svalbard archipelago. Follow this link:

Here is a picture of my town Longyear.  [smiley=coolblue.gif]
