Million Dollar Highway
« on: June 07, 2015, 09:00:14 PM »

For the lucky bunch that is going to the GTG in Ouray, here is a preview of what to expect on the Million Dollar Highway....the temp was 72 degrees when these shots were taken.

The wife and I travelled through Ouray last Monday,  we wanted to attend the GTG but the timing didn't work out.

I think the only paved flat ground in Ouray was the hotel parking lot so please be careful exploring the town, the little Irish pub named Obrien's has great sandwiches.

Enjoy !

The last Pic in the 1st post rings true. In 2011, I hit a deer on the Mil$ Hwy......lucky I can post this as the deer went down a 900' drop off 4ft from the road edge.

Talk about wildlife on the roads.....click this link and scroll down past the dogs curled up in front of the coffee house (that's Telluride), the next batch of pictures with deer in the streets is in the heart of Ouray and the bighorn sheep is just south of Ouray a couple miles.....   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=90300.msg1193386#msg1193386

Love the Million Dollar Hwy, rode it both ways a couple times last summer.  We spent three nights in Ouray.  Wish I was not off shore working for the gtg this summer there.

The Million Dollar Highway is amazing...it tames The Dragon!  ::)

I would definitely say the Million Dollar Highway is tame compared to the dragon as for ease of riding.  No way can you ride the speeds on the dragon that you can ride on the Million Dollar Highway.

However, if your talking Beauty, there is no Comparison, had to beat the Million Dollar Highway with any road, and the dragon is not even a consideration.
