I recently did my first service at home. I had the bike down for the 30t front sprocket upgrade and at the same time decided to have it all set and ready for Sturgis.
Of course I had the primary off and cleaned so I did the 45oz with Redline V-Twin Primary Oil. I also put Redline Shockproof in the trans. Oh, Liqui-Moly in place of my Amsoil that I've ran since my first 1000 mile service. So far all of the oils seem to be doing what others said they would do.
These oils are NOT CHEAP either, just a few bucks under $100.
I can't see how anyone can see into the derby cover hole to see the oil level. On my old '76 Shovelhead, the opening is such that you can clearly see the bottom of the clutch basket and the oil level, but how do you see inside one of the newer bike?
