Does anyone have a good SERT tune for '14 CVO Breakout?
« on: July 01, 2015, 07:17:33 PM »

G'day All,

My '14 FXSBSE is idling less than perfect and I reckon throttle response could be better.  The idle makes it feel like it has a race cam in it (cold or hot), but it doesn't.

I replaced the spark plugs & leads with Screamin' Eagle parts, but no difference.  I bought the cables for my SERT.  No errors logged.

The tune loaded in the bike is SERT 617SFK003, which is the latest tune.  The engine is stock with a set of V&H Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes.  From the race tuner it doesn't appear to have had the map altered from new.  The bike has only done 2,780km (1,727 miles).

I know a dyno would sort it out, but the nearest dyno is nearly 400km (250 miles) away, so I'm hoping someone on here can help me out in the mean time.

Cheers,

Pete

Pete,

Have you tried the smart tune feature of the SERT?  It might liven it up.

Where are you located?

Brett, I'm in Southern Cross, WA.  I haven't found a way to secure a laptop to the bike to do the smart tune.  I had a V&H FP3 on my previous Ultra Limited and the Auto tune function worked great, but I don't want to spend another $500 on that when I have the SERT.

I guess I'm just going to have to wait until I can get into Perth to get the dyno done.

Cheers,

Pete

Hey Pete,

You shouldn't need to have the laptop on the bike. I stumbled across this HD Pro Super Tuner Training the other night. Might help you out. http://prosupertuner.harley-davidson.com/training/ENU/index.html

WA = Western Australia, one of the 6 states.
