A buddy of mine has a 2014 Ultra Limited and I have a 2014 CVO Limited.  He stated there was no difference in the radio between these two bikes.  I know their is a difference with respect to the 25 watts vs 75 watts, respectively.  Does anyone know what other differences there are?

your buddy is just trying to 'downplay' the differences in your two bikes to justify getting the limited as opposed to the cvo.  you know, the old 'i can make a better bike than a cvo using this stock bike to start....'

if you look at your two setups here: http://www.granitestateharleystore.com/OEMpartfinder.htm

you'll see that your two systems are worlds apart.  the head unit is different, you have an amp, he doesn't, your speakers are different.  and that's just to start.

it should be same radio head unit ... difference is the addition of the boom audio amp 300 watts 75w per channel  x4 and boom audio speakers ...

the amp and speakers makes a big difference in sound quality....

the head unit for the touring ultra limited is 76000076 and has an msrp of $1850.00
the head unit for the cvo limited is 76000228 and has an msrp of $2410.00

so there is something different in the two headunits to make up a $500 difference.

The CVO comes with an external amp, 75 watts X 4, while the standard model comes with the standard internal amp, 25 watts x 4.  The CVO has the upgraded speakers, the standard model has the old standard speakers.  The CVO comes with Sirius XM installed, it is an optional dealer accessory on the standard model.  I'm not sure what else, but those 3 are a start.  Btw, if he is going by the info published on the Harley website, that site has had bad info since 2014.

Take a look at the parts drawings and listings for the two models.  That's where you can easily see the differences.
