Water restrictions...you got 'em?
« on: July 22, 2015, 12:04:02 PM »

Here in Nanaimo were "Level 2": twice a week watering/car washing on designated days(instead of odd /even days), No washing sidewalks, drive ways or buildings, when you can water...not between 10AM & 4 PM. Hand watering, with auto shut-off device can be done any day.

I'm putting 420 sq ' of sod down on Saturday......have to call and get a 2 week permit to water it as needed.(My grumpy neighbor called the electrical dept on me to report the new hot tub feed/disconnect...I had a permit!....so I had better get sod watering permit!)

Vancouver went to Level 3 a couple days ago....some parts of The Island are level three....and a few are level 4.

We're truly blessed and spoiled.  Have a 190' deep well in solid limestone and the water table usually is at about 160'.  Cold clear water, with lots of minerals.  NO FLOURIDE, no monthy bill, no rationing, and if the well fails, we have one of the clearest lakes in Arkansas right in our own back yard to draw from if it gets bad enough.

No hatin' now!!

What a view from your deck, you have me seriously jealous! I could see me sipping a few cold ones in the evening and jumping on the golf cart for a leisurely stroll down to the lake. That blue bike ain't too shabby either!

Mandatory for the whole state of California.

It was in the news last week that one of the big stars in Hollywood got caught having a tanker truck fill up off of a fire hydrant five miles away, several times a week to water their five acres of landscape.....BUSTED.  :o

Thanks!  Like I said...we are BLESSED!  Our view ain't nothing like the boys on Coronado Island have, but we do have 10+ acres of lakefront property that's 90' above the waterline, with a 2.5 mile view across the lake.  Last year we had 22' or better water depth visibility, which is awesome for snorkeling.  Boat ramp less than a mile away for our party barge.
And you're right about the deck.  We are often found with a nice cold beverage watching the sun go down in that very spot!   :drink:  No golf cart, but we have a Polaris Ranger that we've put almost 900 miles on up here in the last 2 years alone.   :2vrolijk_21:
Very secluded and private, with a 1/4 mile long driveway.  The bike gets dusty all the time from that driveway, plus its 17+ miles to civilation (paved), but it's worth it!
Sorry for semi-hijacking the thread, guys.
On a serious note tho, I am watching the water situation out on the west coast very closely.  I hope and pray the drought ends soon for you all!

No restrictions here, but speaking of wells.....house was built in the Brushy Mnts 20 yrs ago. Man that bored it was old school and went down til he could get 80 gal/min, did that at 380ft. Best water I have ever tasted & its virtually free.

They're Hollywood actors!  Most of 'em think they're above the law - and that's probably not too far from the truth, either!
Sooner or later most of 'em show their true colors.  It's a shame about Selleck, though.  Always thought more highly of him.
If he want's water that bad, he oughta move to the Ozarks with me and bring his Sharps rifle with him.  We'll teach him how to live right!

No restriction here I am on a deep well 450 feet down into the main aquifer running from the arctic ocean under the East Coast, Caribbean and on through South America. They hit water at 200 feet and then hit rock at 460 feet, backed up 10 feet and I have all the water I ever want.
