Wide band O2 Sensors.

If it possible for the stock computer to run wide band o2 sensors?  Not that they would function in "wide band mode", but would they work like the stock ones or are they plugs and everything very different.  The reason I ask, is when I bought this bike it had some auto tune (cant recall the brand) device that was plugged into the O2 sensors and the various other places its supposed to be.  The device eventually failed completely (got wet).  So I had to remove it.  Well the company didnt have my model listed anymore, but the number III version came with wide band o2.  So I was just wondering,.....
