Wow, that's a first. You're from upstate. I'm from downstate. Upstate has the mountains. Downstate is the Flatlands. So I'm a Flatlander. I got a place near Cobleskill, so I guess I'm only a Half-a-flatlander! ;D Just playin' with ya' Ken. I never met anyone from upstate that didn't call NYC folks Flatlanders. Welcome to the best HD site there is (although you wouldn't know it from my posts). ;) Hoist! 8-)

I know what you mean Ken. Flatland, not Heatland. Ask around up there. Someone will have heard it. It's not supposed to be flattering either. ::)  If you ride down this way again, look me up. Maybe we can go for a cruise somewhere out east.

I always just called 'em city folk. I grew up so far north in NY I spoke French and English. Lived on the border of NY & Quebec in a tiny town called Massena. Now THATS UPSTATE!  ;D ;)

Wow Massena. Great place to visit the St Lawrence River Locks (not sure of the spelling). I love watching the big ships getting in and out of those things! ;) Hoist! 8-)

welcome from the west coast(of NY)
I've lived here all my life(56yrs) and I've never heard NYC refered to as flatland.

The ARMPIT OF THE EAST,   now that I've heard of for years. [smiley=apple.gif]

yes I would consider Messena,  Clayton, Alexandria Bay,  that whole area,  IS upstate NY
