Favorite Highway Snacks
« on: August 07, 2015, 08:53:02 PM »

Tell us about your favorite highway snacks.

Mine are Necco wafers.  We ALWAYS carry a couple tubes of Necco's on any trip.  My wife is kind enough to feed me a "pinch" when I ask for a snack.  A "pinch" is  4-5 wafers.

Cheese crackers or peanut butter crackers.  They're at every convenience store or truck store at which you'll ever stop and, unlike the Twinkies myth, I don't think they can ever go bad.  Will ride all day doing a bottle of water and a package of crackers at gas stops then do dinner at night.  Yummy.

Sweet and sour gummy's, they taste good help keep the mouth moist and easy to get to when I put them in a dash bag that I Velcro to the dash. Cheese or peanut butter crackers at a gas stop. Diet Green tea as I ride.

Hot peanuts for sure, maybe peanut butter crackers, water and/or diet citrus green tea.
If we stop and go into a gas station, I might get an ice cream bar or a snickers to tide me over till dinner.

The 2005 seeg has a cool pop up gas cap cover that doubles as a candy dish. I clean it up and fill it with goodies

Pistachios in one pocket and beef jerky in another if I'm wearing a jacket. If no jacket, they're still within reach as my wife will have them close by.

Peanut butter crackers, my go to food for years.  Buy 'em in bulk at Sams, they are a staple on every trip.  Add beef jerky & a Dr. Pepper if a well rounded lunch is desired. Afternoon snack - only occasionally - peanut or almond M&Ms.

Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bars and water.  The bars are awesome and have enough calories and protein to hold you over.  I also always have a 5 Hour Energy for emergency only.  I don't like them but if I need a little kick I will have one.  I think I literally use one a year.  If I'm tired enough to need that I'm to tired to be safely riding.

I threw a pack of those in a camp fire one night and in the morning all there was, were the ashes of the fire, and 6 perfectly shaped, chard, peanut butter crackers  :huepfenlol2:  Oh they last alright  :nixweiss: you can't even burn them suckers  :nervous:  But I agree they are tasty  :2vrolijk_21:  :drink:
