Where are you planning on getting on BRP at? I'm fairly close to the northern end of it.

If you're planning places to stay, have a look at the Two Wheel Inn in Robbinsville, http://twowheelinn.com.  Barry and Linda are wonderful folks.  You're about 12 miles from the Cherohala Skyway, and about 18 miles from the Tail of the Dragon.  Two Wheel has a motorcycle garage next to each room.

Also, Mountain Brook Motorcycle Resort in Sylva, NC...just a skip off the BRP...nice stone cottages, paved parking right next to the cabin, furnished towels for cleaning the bike, and very, very friendly people.  No phones though, but who needs 'em?

I was gonna mention that Two Wheel provides towels for cleaning your scoot, but I figured I'd get chastised in this microfiber loving community..........I'm a recent microfiber convert and believer............but since Terry did it, what the he!!.  Two Wheel provides towels for cleaning your scoot.  Sweetwater BBQ is about three miles from the hotel in Robbinsville.  Great eatin' at that place.

After lots of riding, you need a good massage, right. The Grove Park Inn (I think that was the name of it) in Ashville, NC is one of the most awesome spas I've ever seen! It's a beautiful old hotel and fancy restaurant with spa that will blow your mind! ;) Hoist! 8-)

Thanks for the info. Looking at the Phillips Motel in Robbinsville right now . Any thoughts on this place??? This will be a HOG ride and some of the younger riders are on a somewhat limited budget.  I wanted to give some consideration to this group as they are sometimes left out of some long rides because of the $$$$ factor. Two Wheel Inn was the second choice.

I guess I should have said Deals Gap which is the highlight of the trip for most that are planning to go at this time.My personal plans are more toward other places in the area. Road the dragon a number of years ago on a shovelhead. (I guess that dates me)

Firedood I hope to be all over the Blueridge Parkway on this trip. kickstands down at the motel  Ride is over. Mrs T and Myself are planning on doing our own thing on this one!!!! Will try to hook up with Ya while we are there if your riding schedule permits.

     AAAHHHH.... Microfiber towels... Priceless>>>

Anybody else out there with suggestions thanks ahead of time

If you are near the Blue Ridge you may want to check out Mountain Lake near Christiansburg. That is where the filmed the movie Dirty Dancing.

There are a lot of great places to stay.  What time of year are you thinking about going?

Traffic is light on the weekdays.  During the summer on the weekends, you'll find ambulances parked at both ends of the Dragon.  I went last April and we had the roads all to ourselves.  You just had to wipe the frost off the seats in the morning  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
