2014 Orange SERK Paint Codes
« on: August 19, 2015, 11:33:53 AM »

I have fitted a Memphis Shades detachable batwing to my SERK but now need to get it painted here in the UK to match the bike. Does anyone know the paint codes for Tribal Orange and Galactic Black?

My custom paint guy has spoken to his local dealer and Harley will not sell him the paint!!

Any help or advice will be gratefully received as it doesn't look great in plain black

I got a touch up kit from my dealer about a year ago. The part number for the kit itself is 98601DUF. The codes on the bottles are 39H055 for Galactic Black and 36H084 for Tribal Orange.
I have the same bike and I got the kit just in case (expensive: $50.50 for 2 little bottles of paint.) Have not had to use it yet but good to have just in case...

Hope it helps

Hey Bav

I see in another thread that you were able to get your fairing painted. Did the painter share the paint codes with you? If so what were they?

You need to go elsewhere to buy your paint products. You no more would buy paint from HD than you would from Chevrolet or Ford. The builder is not in the paint business, unless you want to buy a pre-painted part. I see this problem on here all the time. I have painted parts of all the CVO's and regular Harley's I ever owned. Paint came from PPG, and is a system, with base, color, pearls, clear sometimes tinted clear etc.
Go to the local distributor for PPG or a local collision repair facility that sprays (and has a mixing station) for PPG and normally you can find the correct color using the Harley name for the color. It must be mixed, exactly, and sprayed per PPG's instructions.
I have had perfect match on my stuff, but it was mixed EXACTLY per formula and sprayed the same way.
Good luck & I would seriously question anyone who calls himself a painter, yet tried to buy paint from someone besides a paint supply jobber.

Hi there,

We were unable to get the paint codes so my custom paint guy had to match through trial and error and spraying up a few test pieces. I think he did a great job and get many positive comments about it.
