120ST Skunk Dyno
« on: August 23, 2015, 08:11:42 PM »

Had my 110" crankshaft bearing go out and my ESP paid for a new crate motor so I went with the 120ST since it came with a 1yr factory warranty.  Just got it fully tuned and she runs really smooth in all ranges.   Pretty happy with the decision as it is a different world from the way it was before.  People will be very happy if HD ever puts this in the CVO's as the stock motor.  124hp/131tq

Very nice. I saw the sheet you has posted elsewhere and it's got a great curve on it.  :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks

Can you tell us a little more about the 110! What year, model, mileage? And please put up your dyno sheets, inquiring minds want to see.  Hopefully, your 120 will bring you 1000's of miles of pleasure. twinotter

Wow. How much does it cost and what is the heat like?

. Motor itself is around 6k or so and it comes with the 58mm TB.  You have to buy that extra with the 120R.  It was actually less than the CVO 110" crate motor.  The heat doesn't seem any worse than my 110" used to be.

2012 FLTRXSE with 47k.  Crankshaft bearing went out and destroyed the bottom end.  The cost to repair was so much that it was less to just install a new crate motor.  I just had to pay for new exhaust, upgraded clutch and I opted for the higher capacity oil pan.  Also had to pay some labor to put all my black parts on the new motor since it only comes in chrome.

I think they advertised 106hp but I may be wrong.  Anyway the numbers that they advertise are at the crank and with a catted head pipe so it's going to be lower.  People sometimes forget that or just don't know so they are unimpressed when reading the specs.   I really do think my numbers are a bit happy but I will see when I get to run with some of my friends that have the 120R and the S&S 124.  Just curious as to how close it is to them before they start pulling away.
