Thanks Rog, we did fire it up. Sounds like, sounds like, sounds like it needs real mufflers! I spent 10 minutes figuring out that stupid alarm so I can turn it off without too much embarrasment without the fob.

What a crazy system that is. There's got to be a better way!

BTW, they told me not to worry about the warranty, they got my back! I'm telling you, this dealer was awesome! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Looks great my man!! The auxiliary lights and the signals look like they belong where you have them. Are the part numbers you sent to me earlier still applicable? Did everything fit ok? (Assuming I don't switch to the Ultra, which is probably just a passing fancy).

The bike really looks great. I'm sure you are now very happy.

Also, I know you told me once, but is that the standard size RK winshield you installed?

CBM, the Aux light parts list I sent you were fine. If you want to send your version back for me to review, I'll be happy to look at it to make sure. The rear docking hardware is missing parts. The dealer checked his kit too. Same as mine. HD neglects to include everything you need. I'm glad the dealer did this one. He went in the back to get whatever was needed. The windshield is the new HD mid-low windshield. It's a little shorter than the standard RK windshield, which was a little too tall for me. Indoors it appears to be a perfect height for me. I might not need to get the Clearview now, I'll see when I ride it. I needed to buy it anyway, because the SERK's wind deflector is useless to me! And I needed the 5 bolt frame.

You should really take a hard look at both bikes. Don't spend 30 Grand and wind up with regrets. Ride both somehow to compare. They don't have to be CVO's. Ride any full dresser and any RK. Decide based on what you like and how it feels to you. You can not make the wrong decision, contrary to what some people think! That's why Harley makes 3 different style Touring Bikes. Because people are different!

Thanks a lot Don. It was a great day! A little warmer would be nice. I'll settle for those 50-60 mph wind gusts to go away! Tomorrow's the Maiden Voyage. I hope I don't freeze my ass off. I'll have my new G-3's to plug in. And the warmth of a great big smile on my face to keep me warm!!!

What did you end up doing for power? Just drop the dongle down (that's an odd turn of phrase) and let the SAE connector hang off the cruise cable or something? Or go with one of those fixed power outlets that I've found to be so convenient on mine?

I still do it the old fashioned way. I put the connector for the gloves and battery charger on the battery terminals and stuff 'em under the seat. I got the dual t'stat to adjust them. Nothing fancy here Don! As long as my hands stay warm, that's all I care about!

We saw a bike like yours just today and the flames on that paint job are fantastic. Can't wait to meet you in person. Glad to see you got to meet some of the members at Javits. Loved those pics too. Thanks a lot Candy. When riding down to NC this year I'd like to get together with you guys on the way. Maybe a mini VA GTG for an afternoon for those not heading to Hot Springs!
