Thanks for the welcome everyone! I love how international this site is.

It's getting to be late in the riding season for Colorado but I hope to get up into the hills in the next few weeks to look at the aspens changing colors. We'll be sure to post some pics for all to enjoy.

Cheers from the Mile High City!

Welcome to the forum from the Ozark Mountains of north Arkansas!  That sure is a purty scooter!
If you shocks are anything like my '11's or '15's, I believe 50 lbs of air max is what you can go to.  Use a very small pressure pump.  If you use a bicycle pump, you can over fill your shocks with only 1/3 of a single stroke from it.  Also if it's a screw on to the air valve, it will let 5 lbs or so out of the shocks as you unscrew it.  Pressure is personal preference, but I agree with 2K.  Pump it up to 45 and you'll end up with around 38-40 when you unscrew the air pump.  Just don't overdo it!

I run 50# in shocks. Not sure what "stops" you are talking about hitting? I have never bottomed out a 13" HD shock and fully loaded with luggage I am close to your weight. Does the bike have 12" (or lowering) shocks on it? I have bottomed them on a 05 SEEG. Air wise, the shocks are just not that sensitive, they are old school, not precision units and you do realize they do not affect the ride height?

Thanks for the advise on the hand pump, I'll take it easy adjusting the pressure.

I went for a 180 mile solo ride this morning at 50psi and it seemed a little high. I took backroads that weren't the smoothest and the ride was noticeably harsh. No bottoming though. I'll back off the pressure in 5# increments and see what happens. Then I'll adjust for the wife.

CVODon, I just bought the bike and have no idea what shocks are on it. When I hooked up my air gauge it read less than 20psi before i pumped it up. I'll have to come up with a more precise way to fill them. Maybe a H-D hand pump?

you can buy a pump that is compact, screws onto valve & doesn't let air release when you un-scrw the pump. H-D sells them & some other vendors as well. price is around $40-50. depending on where you get it
