Input on a new breather
« on: September 16, 2015, 06:48:21 AM »

I am looking to add some performance upgrades to my bike this fall. I am looking at V&H Power Duals, Powervision tuner, and a new breather.

I'm pretty set on the Power Duals and Powervision tuner, but undecided on the breather. I really like the looks of the Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather Elite but more concerned with performance. Would this be an upgrade over the ventilator or is there any other you'd recommend?

Thank you!

Thank you, hearing good things about the DX pipes. I love the looks of the Power Duals but if the DX work better I'd like to go with those.

Another vote for using Fulsac DX pipes, 2.0 cores and TTS tuner. Everything from a great source and also a map that was spot on for me! And don't forget he gives 10% off to members. Absolutely satisfied with Steve and his products and would do it again in a heart beat!

In my opinion, if you by a new breather it is only for looks. The one you have will flow more air than you will ever need.

Are you guys buying the Fullsac/TTS combo straight from the Fullsac website for the 10% off?

I already have V&H High Outputs (which performance-wise do not seem to be a favorite) but will be hanging on to those for now.

Yes.  Or just call and ask for Steve or Cammy.

Thank you all! I've decided to go with the DX pipes and the TTS tuner. Will keep the breather at least for now.

You will be fine with the Ventilator.  It's a waste of money to change it, at least until you greatly increase the displacement.

Be aware the V&H HO mufflers will decrease the performance of this combo.  You might consider using the money earmarked for a new breather to instead get new mufflers that will perform better.  You can add new cores to stock CVO mufflers for much less than a new set of cans--and these are often available on this forum.
