The only reason I have ever bought a cvo bike (4 out of the 12 Harleys I've owned over the years) is the paint! If it doesn't stop me in my tracks, a cvo bike isn't worth it to me. It's an emotional, not rational decision!

If I don't like the color (or looks) I will not buy it. I waited several years before the color was right.

The CVOs are the like highest trim level in a car.  I suppose they think limited colors and limited bikes drives the value up.

In retrospect I guess it has worked one me since I have owned two now! :)

Yes it does, I have wanted a new bike for the last couple years. But not going to spend good money for a new bike that does not catch my eye. If you cant walk away from your bike and look back and say. "ya that's my bike" then its not worth it to me. I like the new advancements but, I still like the way mine looks way better than some touch screen. LOL :)

Nothing custom about black, If black is the color, even if a CVO, it is nothing but a regular bike from 20 feet with custom wheels. Nothing special about that, black both gloss and matt is done and done.

If you don't like it, paint the darn thing or buy a set of tins and paint those. We dump enough money into our rides that the price of a paint job isn't much more that what we spend on a plethora of other upgrades. I think it would be a shame to do, but it's your bike. I personally enjoy looking at most of the prior year's offerings and think "wow, that's a good looking CVO/SE" and remember when they came out. I think they are mostly recognized by us as CVO owners as the bikes someone was willing to go the extra mile and buy the nicest bike in the showroom. Just like some of the decals and paint schemes of muscle cars, they are recognized immediately by those that know their Mopar or Bowtie stuff as being the models that were a cut above the rest.

I do agree a custom order bike would be a really nice option. I've never actually thought about that, it can't be done?

Seriously? Paint it? That's my point; If you're going that far why by a CVO at all????

You can get a stock bike and pump $20K+ or more in it and have a lot more than a current CVO offering, to include power.

I've owned/ridden a Harley since 1981, AMF bike and all.

I'm a loyal customer to the brand for many reasons; I just expect more a this price point, that's all I'm saying.

I would not buy if the color did not do it for me. Now as for looking to get a specific color before looking at them, not really. I look at the bike and if I like the way it looks, what ever color, if I like it, I will buy it.

I bought the banana seeg sight unseen. Id seen some pics. I was a little shocked at first seeing it but after awhile it grew on me. Now i think its beautiful and plan on keeping it until the end maybe giving to one of my grandsons. Once in reno there was 2000 bikes parked in a huge lot and when you looked out at them and the only bike you could  see was the seeg. These were the precurser to the street glide and are some of the most dependable made before or since.

In '12 when I saw Ruby and had to have her....I'd seen the '12 black SESG...and at 30' it looked like a regular SG with some shiny wheels and parts. I wasn't gonna spend all that money and have another black bike.
I still get many compliments on Ruby's color combo.

It is the BEST paint combo from the MOCO i have ever seen.Never saw one till June this yr.Mission accomplished a couple weeks later  :2vrolijk_21: Heads turn all the way around.
Color is a DEAL MAKER....BREAKER

I am sorry but many of the CVO paint schemes are not that outstanding. The whole idea of a "custom" bike is one made for you to your specifications. If you could save enough($4K) and buy a black CVO then you could use that coin to get a real Custom bike. There is a nearly all black CVO SG that looks very unremarkable from a distance.

The Banana, the Skunk and the Orange-Black-white ones are the standouts the others are just try colored machines. Of course you get to have your favorites but if you list them they may be only three or four colors that make the cut of outstanding.

The only reason i purchased a CVO Street Glide was the color combo, HC Silver/Black now my favorite color.
There has been nothing for me prior to this color, my last Harley purchase was the 100TH silver/black Lowrider that i still own and will never sell.
They look great sitting side by side.. :)
Shame the H/C paint is not 100% But Harley are sorting it out  :nervous:

Absolutely...for me, anyway.
Just stopped in the dealer on a hot day for a soda & pit stop...
...was admiring the new scooters on the showroom floor and shooting the breeze with a salesman.
As I was leaving, I walked out past (my future) SERK - and couldn't get over the paint job.
Loved the colors and design - wound up picking it up the following weekend.
Had NO intention of buying a new bike, let alone a CVO.
I get complements on my bike all the time...from fellow HD owners, rice burner riders,
people in cages at the stoplight and gas station.
This may make me shallow or simple (to some). But I love the (CVO) paint job.

Paint was a big topic of discussion with the HD factory guys at MV. For me some of the more recent paint schemes offered have left a lot to be desired. I tried to explain it this way, I think a CVO should be readily identifiable from a least 50 yards away. If the color and scheme won't pass that test then it shouldn't be on a CVO.

Just my 2 cents....

The Faoctory guys said they heard us and would pass that up the chain.
