Rinehart Slip On Sound File
« on: January 21, 2007, 12:33:12 PM »

The rain finally stopped and I pulled the SERK out of the garage for the first time in a month so I could finally hear what the Rinehart slip ons sound like outside.  The are GREAT!  I recorded a 10 second clip that I was going to attach but it is 13 MB so you'll have to settle for just looking at me sitting on the bike in the sunshine.  I apologize if my image breaks anyone's monitor...

If you would like for me to email you the sound clip, let me know.  I'll see if I can compress it to make it more "mailable".

Nice bike Bob! Looks familiar. You sound like you're real happy with them. How's the heat now? When you get some time with them, give us your report. Thanks and enjoy! ;) Hoist! 8-)

The sun was out but it was still only in the mid 50's today.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitchin about the temperature..., I know some of you are in the 20's and 30's as I have been lately but still with it only in the 50's I didn't experience any heat coming off the engine at all.  I really don't expect to know how that will be until summer when we get into the 90's.

As for the pipes, yes I do like them.  They have a very deep tone.  Do you know if they have removeable baffles?  Seems like I remember someone saying RH offers a quieter baffle you can buy.  I haven't looked at them close enough to see if they are replaceable.

Thanks!  It seems I like it more every day.  I'm a Road King bigot but this one really has me falling all over myself I like it so much.  As or Hoist spending all my money, I'm afraid I'm gonna be guilty of that without his help.  The good news is that the MoCo did a bunch of the stuff I would normally do to satisfy my OCD so other than performance purchases I don't see myself spending nearly what I have on the other RKC's I've owned.

Very, very nice Bob!  I would value hearing the Rinehart's somehow.  Is there a way it can be placed somewhere so you wouldn't have to send multiple emails?  Can files be attached here?

Regardless, sweet looking bike and nice modifications.

Let me ping the management team to see if they can tell me if it's possible to upload a sound file and if so, how.  If I can, I'll start another string with an appropriate subject line in this forum.

I'm afraid I cannot upload the sound file because the site has a 1MB max.  I have emailed it to a couple who have requested it however. Although it 13MB, it transfer pretty well if you have a high speed connection.

Along w/the size, the file format more then likely isn't one of the allowable formats to be uploaded.

Now that I've had a chance to actually get the bike out for a long ride.., about 225 miles last Friday, I find the RH's are not nearly as loud as I first thought.  In fact, they are relatively quiet compared to the SE slash cuts on my '04 RKC.  I was with a friend who rides an Ultra Classic with Thunderheader slip on's and they are significantly louder than my RH's.
The RH tone is beautiful however.  It is a very low rumble.
