Both quality jacks. There's some good youtube videos out there comparing them. Although, the videos favor the company making them. I don't have either at the moment but like the looks of the J&S better for close quarter working.

I've got a Pit Bull and love it. Have never used a J & S, but know people that do and have no complaints.......both quality, so this will be very similar to a oil thread

Had a Black-Jack (Went out of business), Bought a HD Brand on Craigslist, Bought a J&S on Craigslist, Bought a Pitbull from classifieds in local paper. Bought each for $150 or less. The HD was junk, that stupid screw up & down deal was a killer. ALL of the other ones were at least equal. They work great and I saw no fault with any of them. Kept the Pitbull because I see those guys at Daytona every spring and fall and figured if I needed anything I could pick it up there, and I did buy the turn-table, which is great, sit in one spot on a creeper seat and spin the bike to you. Sold the other three for enough to make Pitbull free, so all is good. If I had to keep one besides the Pitbull it would probably have been the J & S.

There is a comparison that I saw once.....Pitbull goes up higher but the frame is not a rigid which is noticed more when moving the bike on an un-even garage floor. The J&S is a solid jack although it's top height is 7" less than the Pitbull. Although I am finally buying a table lift, I am keeping my Pitbull to wash the bike in the driveway.

Mine is a Pit Bull, it works well enough. Actually it was perfect for the '07 bike but on my '13 the balance is different enough that the jack arm gets in the way for oil changes. As a side note, I made a support bracket for it that allows me to use it on my Exmark ZTR mower when I need to change the blades, works like a champ!

I have the pitbull and have had it since 2008.  I added the turntable and love that. The only issues I have had are the springs break, the hydraulic jack has been replaced and putting it together is a PITA.   Other than those 3 small things, its a great jack.  I keep my bike on it all the time.

I've got a J&S and love the way it enables me to put the bike on the side and get a car and a truck in the garage.  Cleaning and working on the bike are super easy.  With the add-on oil pan it makes fluid changes very clean!

For what it's worth, after doing the research, I would buy the J&S, but I would have to unload my yellow Craftsman jack first...

I have a J & S and I am very pleased with it. I have a friend with a Pit Bull and he is pleased with his too. I think it is a flip of the coin as far as quality, price and service between those two jacks.
