Question about O2 sensor size before ordering Fullsac DX pipes
« on: October 03, 2015, 03:19:07 PM »

There are a couple options on the fullsac page when ordering DX pipes. 12mm sensors and 12mm/18mm sensors. From the research I've done I need the 12mm size only. Can anyone confirm that for a 2013 CVO RK? Thanks!

Scott, I think Steve told me the advantage of the extra bungs was for tuning purposes? I can't remember for sure but I do know my 2015 only has the two. Give the good folks there a call, they are very helpful.

The 18mm sensors were used from 2007 through 2009, and they are located near the heads in the pipes.  The 2010 to present bikes use the smaller 12mm heated sensors, located further downstream from the heads near the collector.  So your 2013 needs 12mm sensor bungs.  Some folks like to have both sets of bungs installed when the pipes are made, in case they decide in the future they want to use one of the so-called auto tune systems that use the larger 18mm wide band sensors, or they can be used to monitor mixture by a dyno tuner.  Plugs are installed in the bungs that aren't normally used.  If it were me, I'd have both sets of bungs installed and ask for a set of plugs for the 18mm bungs.

I recommend you get the head pipe to support both sensors.  Bikes after 2010 went to the smaller sensors, but all the dyno guys I know are using the bigger sensors.  So if you get both and get the bike tuned its a better tune and should be less labor.
