Building a custom radio system for a Dyna Fat Bob.
« on: October 06, 2015, 11:13:31 PM »

I was wondering what it would take to get some hard saddlebags built to house a radio and speakers on my Dyna?

Have you ever ridden a bike with a radio and speakers?

Not much fidelity no matter how nice it seems while sitting still.

Might I suggest a smart phone or mp3 player in your pocket and earbuds in your ears.

It's what I use most and I have a '12 CVO SG with an awesome stock stereo system.

I have ridden a bike with speakers granted it was not at highway speeds. I usually ride with ear buds in  when I go for a cruise at 2 in the morning to clear my head. The radio is more of a group gathering type thing.

I have an 09 SERG. the stock system was worthless so I scrapped the whole thing and went with Kenwood head unit, 4 speakers in the fairing, 2 speakers in the saddle bags and 1200 watts. I love the sound even / especially on the highway. Cruising around town I keep it low, just loud enough to drown out the road noise. On the highway it's cranked. Even at 120 km its quite clear, totally eliminates wind noise. Not sure about on a dyna but for the road glide its awesome
