Head flow
« on: October 09, 2015, 11:52:55 AM »

I can see by the info in the Screaming Eagle parts book, the advertised flow of there heads. Anyone out there know how the STOCK 110 heads flow in comparision? Just curious.

I wouldn't publish that. Why?
The 110 heads vary a lot! Core shift changes things. CNC can at least produce a fairly consistent product in terms of airflow unless the core shift is very bad.

110 heads (un touched) flow in the 270 @ 28" area from what we've  seen

OK same here but that can also drop to high 250s up to high 270s
Have seen head chambers at 96 nominal but have seen a few untouched at as low as 93, both matched.

not sure if core shift is the whole issue

some of the 110 heads are cubed improperly

have seen mid 250s here quite a few times

I don't know about 2016 catalog but 2015 doesn't reference the 28 inches

So what scale are they listing?
No dog in the fight just pointing out their scale could be different

If you consider spending money on the MVA heads, imo you would be better to get a porter to work your 110 heads and end up at roughly the same cost and generally better flow and performance.

I think there are better heads to start with over the MVA's or CVO's if you really want something.

most builders don't do their own headwork, they farm it out.builders that do everything (sorry if I leave anyone out) us here @ vee twin racing, sachs,HD street perf, hillside,WFO larry.be very carefull with who does your headwork.we get heads in here all the time,to see if we can "fix" from riders all over the country that have been done by guys who "used to drag race,he knows everything",that are so screwed up,performance is worse than stock

That's what I would be concerned with...
