Our hopes and prayers for a speedy recovery for one of the true gentlemen of this industry.  JK

Hello friends of John Golden, the Dyno Guy;

John and Sandy asked me to pass along a prayer request to you. As I type this, John is in a hospital room at home in Joplin, Missouri. He was not feeling well today and went to the emergency room, where they found that he has several arteries around his heart with substantial blockage. He will undergo a quintuple (5) bypass tomorrow afternoon (Monday, January 22).

Sandy has asked me to pass along a prayer request for John to all his friends on this mailing list. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We will pass along any news about his condition as it unfolds. Thank you.

The two hospitals here in Joplin both have cardiac centers with excellent reputations.  One is extraordinarily so.  So he should be in capable hands.  I'm leaving out of town in a few hours but will make contact when I get home to see if all is well.  I don't know John well but completely respect everything I know of the man.  Watching he and his wife work is like watching artists do their thing.  Truly remarkable.

Since the surgery was today he'll still be in CCICU.  Non-family members can't really intrude in to the Cardiac ICU too much (as it should be).  From all the years my dad was in and out of hospital so much and from some business done with both of the hospitals I could at least get some general information.  They won't release much to non-family members though.  

He is still in the CCICU this evening, reported as having come through the day's surgery "reasonably well" and "resting comfortably" tonight.  Short of intruding on the family, which of course we don't want to do, that's about all there is to find out right now.  

I will arrange to have a card and some flowers delivered from "the CVO group."  It'll be delivered when he's in a regular room after leaving CCICU.

John tuned my previous bike and he and his wife Sandy are just wonderful folks.  Got to visit with them here in Memphis a few years ago when they brought their rig down to a local cycle show.  JR, they have / had some ties locally through friends at Bellvue Baptist.

Twolane, thanks for keeping us posted on John's condition.  We are all praying and pulling for him.

John dynoed Bessie for me in Sturgis. He was recomended to me by Unballanced. Super guy [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Hope he gets well soon. He is definately the best in the business.
