Does anybody know about Head-Quarters products
« on: January 22, 2007, 09:28:25 PM »

I heard about this company (www.head-quarters.com) from a guy that has used there products and was wondering if any body else has used this company?  He used there 575 cams gear drive and had them port his heads and installed pistons to bring it to compression of 10.1 he swears it makes 108 hp and 116 torque but I have not seen a dyno sheet!his bike is a 04 103 with the same stuff mine has. I am needing low end torque because I pull a trailer but also like to go fast.the power on the 103s dont come on until about 3000 rpm. I have a 04 seeg with power commander, rinehart true duals and se air kit. Other wise bassicaly stock what would be the best set up?

Could be wrong, but I believe they're the ones that brought back the hemi-head design used in Hi-Po Shovelheads first for Evo's and now for TC's.

You can get those numbers with just the Zipper's or Freedom cams and no head work or pistons.  Not sure why you'd want to go to the additional expense of the head work and pistons only to end up in the same place? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Headpan,

Actually, Jerry Branch came up with the "bath tub" shaped combustion chamber.  Better turbulence for more even fuel distribution throughout the chamber, among other things.

I have never used Head Quarters, but they were going to be my choice for my 99 FLHTC. Doug, owner, is very knowledgeable, and his daughter, Jamie, is also very knowledgeable about their products. They have a good reputation, and have a good following.

There are a lot of people on HarleyTC88 Yahoo Group that have used their products. You can get a lot of first-hand information on that board.

CVOjunkie,

Have had Head Quarters work their magic on 2 sets of Evo heads and 3 sets of stock Twincam heads over the last several years.  Put an Andrews EV27 in one Evo, and Andrews TW37G's in one 95" Twincam for low-end grunt.  Neither combination made peak numbers to brag about, but torque was quite strong down low where I like it.  The other two 95" Twincams had S/E 21 tooth engine sprockets installed, so went with HQ TC-575's in one and  HQ-0033's in the other.
103's have their own unique cylinder head castings.  You may want to call Head Quarters and ask what their thoughts are regarding working with 103 castings.  Doug Coffey is very knowledgeable and I've been pleasantly surprised how much time he has willingly spent with me discussing combinations.  Unfortunately this is teardown season, so they are  probably quite busy.  Head Quarters does have an exchange program, but I prefer to get back the heads I sent in.
There is an area on Head Quarters' web site where you can view dyno sheets of customer's bikes.  You can see how much a given combination will yield and where in the RPM range.  I actually printed out all of the Twincam dyno sheets, and spent some time reviewing them before deciding on the last combination.  I even requested they size the combustion chambers to yield a compression ratio of my specification.

A co-worker sent his stock Twincam heads to a guy in Michigan, and I have seen what he can do with the 103 castings.  If you're intersested I can send you some info on this guy.
