2015 RG CVO Fog Lights
« on: October 23, 2015, 12:10:47 AM »

Looking to add some fog lights has anybody installed yet or any advise or Pics.  Really want to use the switch blanks on the console.  I do a lot of night driving in the country and want to see and be seen.

The HD switch kit includes console switches which control circuits under the left side cover fuse area. Kit has a wire harness to connect to this circuits.  The hd fog lights can mount either on fairing lowers or on upper fairing turn signals with required mount. Hd also makes a wiring kit to go from left side cover that splits into two light connectors. Just started gathering info for winter project and not actually installed yet.

Here's the link to the HD website showing the turn signal mount:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/road-glide%C2%AE-led-fog-lamp-mount-kit---chrome

Here's the link to the LED fog lamps for the mounts (again, HD website):
http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/daymaker-reflector-led-fog-lamps

I saw these mounted on a '16 RG Ultra (non CVO) at K'ville HD this past Tuesday.  I like the look and mounting with the turn signals do not detract (as much) from the front of the bike.  I didn't get to see how they operate, however, since the dealership ordered the switch to fit a bat wing and, apparently, the MoCo has a different switch for the RG.  I'm guessing the way it's mounted?  Anyway, they had to order one.

These will fit the '15 SERGU and non-CVO RG (special)

My dealer has a set of the Daymaker Reflector LED's on an Ultra Limited down on the lower fairing engine guards.  I'm not impressed with their brightness but do like the mounting and location.  The mounting pushes the light forward in front of the radiator grill as shown in some of HD photos.  I get the impression some of the aftermarket lights are brighter and reach further down the road.  I discussed with the parts department lighting specialist and came up with a list of parts needed for the lower fairing mount.  It gets pretty costly for the whole package.  The Rushmore RGU are still new enough the dealer has not done a light install on this model but should not be too different than the Ultra Limited.

Wire Kit  #69201109
Switch and Side Cover Harness #71400105

Just put the HD LED fogs on my 12. They do a nice job of lighting up that area on both sides down low before the headlights work

The flat hood part houses the LED and reflects off the lower, open reflector part of the light housing.  It illuminates the ground just in front of the bike, to the sides, out to where the headlights start to illuminate and the flat hooded act as a visor to cut off the light there and prevent blinding on-coming traffic.  There is even a little bar & shield out front to help orient up & down.

Take a look at Motolights. They are a little pricey but well worth the cost. They also have a lifetime warranty. I've had them for 12 years or more.
They mount to the brake calipers so they aren't in the way if you have lowers.
