Thanks everyone no turning back now since I have removed the old logo plate. Really wanted to save it but it's so thin it rippled during the removal. Went ahead and made sure I formed the chrome piece to the tourpack contour and centered it on the new insert and clamped in place. Raining here for the next few days so will leave insert clamped up in the house till weather breaks.

Photos to follow once completed.

Looks nice, how do you think it would look reversed? Chrome panel instead of red with the same logo design cut out of the center of the chrome with the red inset in the background as the letters.   :nixweiss: I like different 8)

That's different and would stand out. Could have a panel laser cut then chromed.

The logo without the backlit looks great! Better contrast sets off the chore lettering, and the red background really enhances it.
