ANOTHER cam question
« on: November 01, 2015, 04:44:52 PM »

Ok I have been researching for awhile and I'm even more confused at this point. What cam do I put in my 110'' 13 CVO King??? Bought a Vance & Hines power dual head pipe, rhinehart 4"" mufflers, SE tuner, SE Agitator air cleaner. Want some more power basically more from stop light to stop light. What would be the best cam choice with this configuration?? Do not want to do any head work. Thanks in advance.....

What you're describing sounds like the stock cam is a good match for you. With the things you've done in addition to a good tune, I'm sure your bike would/does scream from stoplight to stoplight. I have a 2013 King and love the low end of the stock cam. Not saying there isn't anything better, but it is great for off-the-line pull.

Leave the stock cam and find yourself a tuner who lnows what he is doing and you should be very happy. Great torque from the stock 255 cams.

I agree, the 255 with a good tune will surprise you. Be careful with your pipe selection, too big of a baffle will kill the 255's ability to make power where it wants to work.

Which I learned the hard way when I put on V&H High Ouputs. I feel like the bike does breath better at higher RPM and I don't have to shift as early. But I do miss that instant torque.
