I'm glad I bought a Harley instead of one of those Goldwings!

I don't that F6B looks sharp and I bet it will outrun a SG any day in any conditions. Nothing is perfect but Harley gets more recall than most makes.

I would have to agree with the sentiment that those geldings aren't sacred.  My goldwing has 56,000 miles on it and during my ownership from new, it had a fork seal replaced at about 24,000 miles.  My 14 ultra, two recalls for brakes, a saddlebag clip recall, a speaker that needed replacement and a loss of all audio output on the headset  system(speakers worked).  Gotta say, for me, in spite of the issues, glad I have both.

I have had 3 Wings, last one a 2001 GL1800.  I had to put a rear end in it at 95,000 miles and other than brake pads and tires, no other issues.  Sold it with a 110,000 on it to a guy that never owned a bike and he picked it up in Alabama, rode it back to Wisconsin with his 15 year old son on back.  Once he got home he and his wife went on a 4,500 mile trip out west. He wrote me on his return to report they had a ball and had zero issues. By the way he was Amish, first time I ever saw a wide brim on anything other than a bicycle if it had 2 wheels.  Will pick another one up some day when I find one at a great price. They are great bikes in cooler weather, more protection in my mind.

I bought an '82 GL1100 Aspencade new while I was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson.
I think I paid around $7k or more for it from the dealer there.
I loved that bike and regretted it the moment I sold it.
Below is a picture of me with it back when I was 150 pounds wet and wormy.
I was hooked on touring bikes from then on...

My 2013 Goldwing F6B has been recalled concerning some problem with the back brake master cylinder. I have not gotten the work done yet. If anybody cares = I will keep you posted.

I still own my 1979 Goldwing GL1000 which now has 158,000 miles on it. It's my true pride and joy and still in perfect running condition. Back in 2013 I drove Goldy from Philadelphia down to Jazz Fest in New Orleans. Six days of riding - 3 down & 3 back - almost 10 hours a day. Half of it in the rain. At the time, I had figured that if my bike did break down, I would simply hitch a ride to the nearest Honda dealer and buy one of the newly designed F6Bs that I was craving. But, the bike rode even better on the way home. Of course, that did not cure my craving for the new F6B. I am absolutely certain that this group can relate to a small spark of desire turning into a burning flame.

And still if you are going to win the Ironbutt rally (11,000 miles in 10 days) or ride around the world. It will be on a Goldwing or a BMW, very rarely a Harley.

I have an F6B which has proved to be almost flawless unlike the 6 Harleys I currently own.  I had the recall done along with a service and it was completed the same day.  No hassles.  I didn't even have to wait for parts.  I called, took the bike in the same day and a few hours later it was done.  I still love my Harleys but I really understand why people own and ride BIG RED. I only wish my Harleys had such a good track record.
